Hi Everyone! I'm a first time bikini competitor getting really excited to compete on November 12. As I'm sure you can imagine--i'm super nervous as well! I've attached some progress photos taken at exactly 3 weeks out. Below is my diet/supplement plan. I would love to hear your criticism/advice on what I need to work on/any adjustments I need to make between now and competition day.

I didn't hire a trainer/coach, but I've been working with an experienced figure competitor throughout the process so I haven't ben entirely on my own, howver, I just found out that she won't be in town on the day of the competition so I'm FREAKING OUT! Any advice on what I should do/expect the day of the show (I really appreciate this since I'm going to be all alone now!)

Also, one thing I'm really iffy about is what to do the week before the competition in terms of any changes to my diet/training schedule. All advice is much appreciated!

Thanks!

This is my diet at the moment:

Meal 1: 4 hard boiled egg whites. 4 oz oatmeal (measured uncooked)
Meal 2: Whey protein shake (Usually just use protein powder and water but sometimes i'll add 1/2 a banana or peanut butter) or 4 slices deli turkey + 10 almonds
Meal 3: 6 oz grilled chicken, 4 oz veggies (either asparagus or spinach), 1/2 of a sweet potato
Meal 4: Rice cake with peanut butter or 4 slices deli turkey and tablespoon of peanut butter
Meal 5: 6 oz grilled chicken, 4 oz veggies (either asparagus or spinach)
Meal 6: Cottage Cheese (no salt added) or Whey Protein Shake.

The supplements I'm taking are:

CLA
Lcarnatine
Women's Opti Multi Vitamin
CoQ
Vitamin C
Calcium
Argenine
Glutamine

Sometimes I drink 1/2 an energy shock before I lift because I need a lil extra boost. I also drink black coffee throughout the day.

I've found that even if you get as much advice as possible about the day of the contest, nothing can truly prepare you for the experience. One thing I always tell people I help as well as repeat for myself is that by contest day, all the hard work is done, and your best bet is to just relax, smile, and show off all your hard work without worrying about placings, or trophies or any of that stuff.

3 weeks, you doing the Worlds?

That sounds like terrific advice! Yes, I am doing the Worlds. It's my first show ever so a lot of people advised me against doing the Worlds, but I was just to eager to compete and didn't want to wait til next season. Since it is my first time competing I'm really just looking forward to the experience and am proud of all the hard work I've put in...but, at the same time, I want to avoid looking clueless the day of the show!

Thanks so much for your advice!

I will see you there! It is a great show and the competition is really good. There will be people from all over the World competing there. If you wanted to do a show before, I promote a show on November 5th in Massachusetts. Usually most people enjoy the second show much more! If you are interested, let me know.

Hi Andrea,
I will second what Nancy stated to you. Also, don't forget about your competition spray tan. As the sponsored spray tanner for Worlds again, I have been getting appointment times filled quickly. We will be spray tanning at the host hotel and then be back stage at the venue on Saturday.
Good luck!
