View Full Version : why on earth do i hold soo much water can you help?

Recently i have been cutting sooo hard tryin to get to 4-5%bf so nearly competition status just cause i can but anyway. I was following everything exaclty early morning cardio low carb no carb high fat HIT Training abs twice-3 times a week doing all sorts of stuff. I wanted to be shredded to the max and have an 8 pack ya know look close to a pro. I started getting the results i wanted though i have found i hold a crazy amount of water in my stomach area. My abs are strong as hell and they are there but not pertruding nearly enough as what they should. To put it this way i thought my arms and legs started looking like i was about to compete but my mid section was terrible well not nearly as good as it should be with the amount of effort i put in. I drank green tea take caffeine too. I got a skin fold the other day and my bf measured 6.5% after 5 weeks of bulking then i got a bf test done by scale and it read 12.5 i was so confused but they told me my body was 75% muscle but i held a very very very large amount of water... why is this i dont drink that much liquid i thought. I just wanna know why my stomach alwasy seems bloated and im dry everywhere else i think i might have whats called edema.

If you don't drink that much liquid then that is probably exactly why you're retaining water in the first place. Start downing several liters of water per day and you'll start pissing like a race horse for a couple days but it should also have the added effect of flushing out your system. Not drinking your fluids just makes your body hold on to what it has.

Try some dandelion root I found that that helped pulling the water out of me

Bloating in the mid section is usually due to excess cortisol. From the looks of your workout regimen, you are stressing your body out. Sometimes focusing too much on your goal can actually deter you from it. Try and pickup a relaxing hobby which could help get your mind of things.
Increasing your carb intake and reduce cardio could help reduce the bloating. Diuretics are just a quick fix and don't solve the underlying problem.

Just go hit the bars and get ****faced. The next morning you'll wake up with about 8lbs of water loss.

It's something to try before messing around with your routine & diet too much, especially if it's been working for you well so far.
Not enough water intake. Try chamomile.
