View Full Version : Can women take ZMA supplements?

Hey i was interested to see how many of you (if at all) take ZMA as a supplement before bed. I absolutely LOVE taking zma as it always provides the best sleep and mental/physical recovery when i wake up. HOWEVER, im asking for my mom. She is a terrible sleeper and gets 4-5 hours of sleep if she is lucky. Would there be any reason why she couldnt take it? It is supposed to increase test levels (even if its miniscule) so im hesitant to give her some of mine before i look into it lol. She doesnt lift like im sure most of you women do, but she does do cardio at the gym 3-4 days a week.

Hard to say if it's OK for her to take it without knowing her health history, etc. But, I take it, so yes, women can.

Yes I've been taking ZMA on the instructions of my PT to aid sleep and for vit b, zinc and magnesium mainly. The bottle I've got comes with both female and male recommendations, so if you get a quality brand you can hold them to it lol. It won't raise test in women in the same way it does males, if anything I think it balances things out.
Ps - I think it's larvley you looking after your mum like that. No pk. :)

Awesome! I have prima-force but ive never seen dosages for a female. Shouldnt it be the same tho, as the ratio of magnesium and zinc is key?

Not sure on dosage for prima-force. I have NOW and the dosage is 3 caps for men, 2 for women.

Mine is called Simply Supps, but no use to you, as I'm in UK. My dosage, is the same as Erinlee, 3 for men, 2 for women. Seems universal. Best of luck. x

Mine is called Simply Supps, but no use to you, as I'm in UK. My dosage, is the same as Erinlee, 3 for men, 2 for women. Seems universal. Best of luck. x
Thank you both! I take 3 caps so i will start my mom on 2. I really hope this works for her, she really needs some good sleep. Reps!
