All of these games are disappointments. MW3 is just going to be a souped up MW2 with marginally better graphics and so forth. BF3 is what it is. An upgrade to the BF series with new weapons and gadgets and slightly better graphics. This is still the Beta but I think no one should expect a game to be the greatest thing since toilet paper. They are just games and theres a limitation to what developers can do with them. Once we get graphics chips that are capable of running games at movie like quality then we'll see whats up.

BF2 was a great game and the fact that EA has moved so far away from the BF2 formula to give us this bull**** BF/BC hybrid with a little bit of CoD thrown in for fun has killed their originally unique series.

The biggest problem for me right now is moving from a controller to k/m. I'm not used to the controls and it's very annoying having to learn this exaggerated key setup.

The main problem for the game as a whole is that camping is much more prevalent. You can easily hide in the bushes and pop out to kill a passerby.

Also, I call BS on the locked graphics. If the graphics were locked, there wouldn't be such a difference in FPS when switching between options.

Call of duty is successful because they cater to people who have no actual skill in aiming. You can just point your mouse in their direction and hold the fire button, oh you died? Lets drop a grenade at your feet just so you can kill that guy who outplayed you. Or lets give you some super helicopter that will kill 20 people because you got 7 kills in a row. COD is a joke compared to Battlefield as a whole. People like me abused that system hard in the original Modern Warfare. Getting a 7 kill streak in that game is like taking candy from baby...once you get that first Helicopter or Attack dogs out it was GG.

The people who complain about Battlefield being too slow or the guns are too OP, or people camp, are people who have no actual skill in true team based FPS games and don't want to learn.
The only people who are remotely "good" i would say at COD are clans who play together, or ones who play competitively in tournaments. Every one else is just a scrub on TDM sprinting and throwing grenades over every wall.

As someone who bought BF1942 on release date and has owned every PC battlefield game and a few Xbox ones, BF3 is exactly what i wanted it to be so far. Minus a few bugs that they need to work out with Battlelog and in game...

I'm getting a kick out of how glitchy the beta is (PS3 here). I have only played for 47 minutes so far and have seen each of the following multiple times:

-Screen jumps and jitters around while crawling
-falling through the map/crawling under rocks
-can't run in certain instances unless you stop moving completely or go prone and then jump back up
-moving up a small hill to a better position and then slowly sliding backwards the whole way down to where you started
-entire screen flashes magenta or blue every once in a while

This is the first BF game that I have really ever played, and despite all of the shortcomings, I know that this is only the beta and am genuinely excited for the finished product.

I have played every Battlefield game except 2142, and at first I didn't like the beta, but now I could play nonstop. The graphics are good, but sometimes it makes it a little difficult to see the enemy. And it's a beta, so expect glitches and crashes. And one thing I have noticed is that every Battlefield game has it's own "feel" to it, so I won't compare it to previous games. I've also played every Call of Duty game, and I have been a fan since COD3.

I prefer OS X over windows, I prefer not having to ever worry about **** getting **** like trojans and malware (yes I know its 100% safe). But this isn't about Mac's vs PC's this is about me trying to justify spending x amount of dollars on a Gaming PC when Gaming isn't nearly as important to me as school/work. Maybe your priorities are different and thats fine but the elitism is comical and almost as juvenile as those who argue PS3 vs Xbox. Its a video game ffs. Don't own a desktop computer (college student), have literrally 0 friends who are PC gamers, and talking to some of the PC gamers on here it seems as if they more often than not are playing with randoms on a server. i dont think its that bad. got a chance to play an hour or two last night and i enjoyed myself some lag issues with dying quick or not getting a kill when i should but not as bad as i thought it would be. all in all it should be pretty good when the game actually launches nothing but time will tell though

THe game releases in a month, there is very little they can change in that time period...the whole "its beta guys not a final version" excuse is getting old. If there are bugs on a beta map then I cant imagine the full release.

Once the game comes out there will be patches like a good game with support gets. Every game has bugs in it at first,then we iron them out.

Idk what you guys are talking about. I'm a lifelong Battlefield player/fan, and came into this with high hopes. Despite the high expectations, I was blown away. The attention to detail, the gameplay, the strategy, the team work, absolutely immersing and incredible. If you suck at it, doesn't mean the game sucks.
That could be why it doesn't appeal to a lot of players. A lot of players just want to equip some bull**** automatic pistol akimbo and run around the map spraying everything, and when you can't do it in BF3, they get mad. When they're forced to be patient and think about their moves, they get mad. Personally, I think it's great that this game will filter out a large amount of retards. Kill streaks are also retarded, look at all the boosting it lead to, not to mention spawning and being killed instantly by choppers.

Anyone know why I'm getting random FPS drops??
It makes the game unplayable at times.

I'm running 2 6870's crossfired and OC'd. Temps are fine, no artifacting.
When I'm running around in the subway with people around/fire/shooting I still get 80-90 fps but then out of the blue I'll randomly drop to like 14 and climb back up.
Happened to me a couple of times in fire fights and it sucked.

It's not consistent though, I can't just run through smoke or fog and reproduce it, it just comes and goes.

Is this a problem with my PC or the beta.

FYI, I'm a programmer by trade, run my own software company, and have done game development for years. I'm nto saying BF3 is a horrible game, just that it's a massive letdown from expectations.

It's like a kid having a big present under the Xmas tree with your name on it, only to open it Xmas morning and find a box full of sweaters from your grandma.

Also, do people really think developers will be able to change much, because they won't. So much of this stuff is engrained in the actual game structure. They'll tweak things, but nothing close to major will be changed.
