About Me
I am coming off of a recent shoulder injury and just starting to get back into gear with the push movements(been going light for about a month or so). Aside from that I have a clean bill of health. I workout...I workout simply because I love it. It is a lot of fun for me. I started a years ago but I have only been what I would call serious for a few years. When I started I was about 215 lbs with absolutely no strength at all. I couldn't do a pull up, I could barely deadlift 135lbs, I couldn't I couldn't blah blah. Currently I am 10 fold stronger than I was before(obviously), and my weight is in the mid-170's. I have been trying to gain lean mass(as we all have). Aside from that I am a busy guy. I have a baby on the way, I am in college, and I work part-time at The Vitamin Shoppe. Life has been busy but it will pay off. I ramble so on to the next thing :D
Supplements
For this log I will only be using:
MN Serum
CL OT Multi
Probiotics/Digestive Enzymes
I may get some more fish oil or other health supps and that's it. The profile has 3,000mg Creatine complex per rounded scoop, and I work out 5 to 6 days a week(depending on my body) so I feel that I should be plenty saturated off of this product alone.

If my body is very sore I may occasionally leave out either core or arms. For the most part I hit them all each week. I have a some what "malleable" plan workout plan with a basic guide line. I have been trying to get in as many working sets in as possible since I am trying to gain mass; not a whole lot of 1RM's as of late. Chest day and shoulder day are interchangeable, as well as back and leg day. I do that depending on soreness. I go in with a plan of "what I want to hit" and I go to work. I switch out exercises to keep it fun and my body guessing(IE rack pulls in place of dead lifts, BB military press in place of DB seated press, hack squats in place of back squats, etc).
Workouts will be posted in full so that you can get the hang of what I mean. Workouts are based off of compounds first, isolation second.
Diet
I am eating at 3500 calories right now. Due to hectic lifestyle the macros vary some. I always track the diet and I consistently get around 230 of protein a day, but the rest changes. I try to keep it healthy with some cheat meals(not days). The reason is like on a day when I have morning school, work, then night school, I really can't be making the food I want. I usually will make some pretty gnarly shakes on those days. Any changes in diet will be noted the day of change.
What will I be gauging on Magnum Serum?
Simply put:
Taste
Mix-ability
Energy
Focus
Pump
Anaerobic Endurance(don't do much cardio lately...workout endurance basically)
Recovery
I always feel that the strength and mass in regards to pre-workouts is a direct derivative of these categories mentioned; along with diet. If I noticed anything outside the categories I will mention. I do not particularly like number systems until the end. My reasoning is there are many variables that can go into a given workout. IMO, for me, I prefer to look over the whole body of work to gauge. Sometimes people have bad days, and that isn't the supplements fault; and the converse of that is true. Daily thoughts will be detailed still, of course. If I get demand of a daily numbering system I will put one in place.

Warm up-Basketball...it's always basketball so I won't be writing this again lol
DB Shoulder Press-40's x 12wu(warm up), 60's x 8, 6, and 5, 35's x 7 w/pause(with pause means pausing at contracting point)
BB shrugs-225 x 10 x 4
Cable Lateral Raises(hanging laterally)-30 x 8es(each side) x 4
Reverse Flies on incline bench-25's x 10 x 3
HS Shoulder Press-90 x 10wu, 110 x 10, 140 x 8 and 7, 90 x 10 w/pause
DB Shrugs(1 second up, 2 down)-65's x 18, 13 and 10(little rest between)
Personal Notes:
Not quite where I was before, but getting there. Weird thing, I find DB reverse flies w/no bench easier, and DB Lateral raises easier than what I did above. I guess because they isolate better, therefore it is nearly impossible to use other parts of the body.
Magnum Serum Notes:
-Today I was feeling beat since I woke up. I took two scoops pre-workout and I was feeling it at the gym. Major energy boost.
-Focus was awesome as well. Both combined made for an awesome workout. My J was on fire today during warm up B-ball. Call me splash :D
-Pumps were decent. I will note that I usually don't get a whole lot of pump on shoulder days in general. It gets pumped, but not like other days. Arms/Back days will really test that.
-Taste was good. Really not too sweet, but a really good after taste. I used Blue Raspberry today
-Mix-ability was decent. Like many other pres, if you let your cup sit some will go to the bottom. I use a shaker bottle so no big deal.
-Product was clumped up when I opened it. I just took a butter knife and broke it all up. These last two really aren't a big deal to me. All I really care about is if the product is working :)
Overall for first day I really enjoyed it. Helped me get my ass in gear!

Thanks man. I am not quite where I was, but I am not far off either. The discomfort comes more on the benching. I have always had some problems there than anywhere else. I live by a motto my grandfather taught me about this: "Don't let what you can't do stop you from doing what you can." Works on life in general.

-Only three exercises, but definitely a hard work out. Felt really good. Woke up sluggish again. Last few years on the change of season my sinuses get a little whacky. Once I get going I'm good though.
Serum Notes
-Tried Grape. I liked the flavor. Once again not very sweet, but really like the after taste of this.
-Mix-ability was the same as expected.
-Energy and Focus were both very solid.
-Got a solid pump going in my lats and biceps from the chins and it built from there.
-I think it is still to soon to comment on other aspects. I do really dig not having to worry about taking creatine(not that it's hard).
-Also nice not using other stims. As a guy that has always had sleep problems I like my stims :)
-Beta Alinine must have a decent amount because I get the "tingles" from it.

-I can already see that I love the Focus/Energy aspect. 2 scoops pre-workout really is a nice boost.
-Used Blue Raspberry again and I definitely dig the flavor. I will keep switching and eventually get what I like more...I may even mix them one day for the hell of it :D
-Pumps were nice today. Started on the first set and didn't stop until after I was home.
-Couldn't really test endurance since limited with schedule/packed gym, and still too soon on the recovery aspect. I am not expecting anything ridiculous of course, but the profile with beta alanine, creatine, leucine, yada yada, should definitely help to a degree; I am sure it will in time. It's only Day 3! :D
Overall: So far so good :)

No workout today. I've been sipping on nyquil and sleeping most of the day. The sinus infection came on in full force when I woke up today. Sinus headache, chest congestion, sore throat, etc; basically all the goodies. Gonna rest it up more and get back to ASAP. I hate not being able to hit the gym, but I don't want to make it worse.
As soon as things are a go I will let you guys know.

Day 4(after over a week!):October 3rd, 2011-Shoulders
NOTE: Still not 100%, but getting there. Mostly just left over mucus. Been using one of those Neti Pots and draining mucus on the daily. It is gross, but it works lol. I haven't taken any supplements since Septemer 23rd that have relation to muscle enhancement/performance; just multi, NAC, probiotics...basically health related. The only caffeine I had was a few sugar free RockStars to help get me through college/work. So I am at basically ground zero with any saturation.

-Not the best workout, but not bad either. Surprised myself on the upright rows because that was more reps then when previously tried. A few moves weren't as good as before, but overall I am happy with it. After the workout I coughed out some of the leftover mucus that is still in my lungs, went home and took all my health supps, and made a delicious myofusion and strawberry greek yogurt shake :D I feel really good now. I will be back in full swing soon. Also, since I still ate a lot I feel I gained minor BF, but nothing I'm worried about.
Magnum Serum Notes
-Did the blue razz. Two Scoops Pre. Enjoy the taste of it. I really enjoy it. Almost like a treat that ain't too sweet.
-The energy aspect really helped me through this workout.
-Actually got some pretty decent pumps for a shoulder day, especially after the reverse flies. Solid.
-Since I wasn't really one hundred percent this wasn't my most grueling workout, but I feel it played a roll in the endurance. I know my body pretty well and I am very happy about what I did today not being 100% YET.
-Saturation of all supps bodybuilding related starts today, so I will have more details probably in like a week regarding long(er) term effects, endurance, maximum effort, extra reps, and all those goodies.
-Over all I am digging the product. Happy I got sick after only a couple tries so I basically have a fresh start. Things gunna get gooood son! haha
Also, not yet, but later in the log I will start discussing the profile. Obviously I am NOT an expert, or a formulator, but I will discuss HOW I FEEL about it. I really like certain aspects of it, others I PERSONALLY would do a little different. Overall it will be good :) It will be hard with the prop blends. I don't particularly like prop blends, but I do understand their purpose in a world full of scam artists. More to come on this, but certain things about the formula I really like so I figure why not review that aspect some too.

Notes
-The mucus is making the endurance aspect kinda hard
-Strength is still good with the PR in weight and reps
-Only gonna get better as I get to 100%(volume/weight). For example, I would also do another move and some calf work.
-Oh, almost forgot, my weight has been staying pretty much in limbo so I upped my calories to 4000! Will keep an eye on this bc it is the most I ever went up to on a daily basis. Not too worried about fat, but my aim is only SOME fat for the lean bulk. will update if I need to lower it a little or any change. Gonna be hard so 1000 calorie shakes on busy days here I come lol.
Magnum Notes
-Pump today form second two exercises was great. After my major strength compound move I did rep schemes to work towards testing pump. Fells good bro. May have looked like a weirdo pulling up my short sleeves to bust a nice flex lol.
-Product definitely gave me the energy and focus to help me get through. Can't weight to get in the swing at 100% on the respiratory end.
-Did the grape. I am really digging the flavors. I use a shaker bottle so I just do a quick shake before sips and I have no issues with anything. Solid IMO.
-Much move to come as I get better and get saturated with some of the ingredients.

Yeah I was gonna do three angles, but realized that I wasn't low enough on the third. Will get right next week. The ML angle was only so so anyways. Awesome pump though.

-Strength is doing good. Only few moves but lots of sets.
-No Deadlifts or Racks today, but my legs are sore from my workout earlier in the week; plus my back was blasted.

-One of these days I will do 1 scoop of each flavor separate to pick my favorite flavor lol.
-Nice pump today. My bi's were ever pumped as hell from the start.
-Product delivers on the intensity.
-Trained fasted and felt great and still got a pump. Pretty sweet. Aside from the product not a single carb was given.
-I think the Amino Acids make this product good for when fasted training happens. Good to know.

Thanks bro. Endurance isn't quite there...and sometimes I can get carried away in a move. When it's something like chins it takes a lot out of me. Same thing happens on deadlift PR attempt days.
Serum has definitely been helping me.

-Had to go to gym early today. Will do same tomorrow. Work + manager on vacation + school + baby on the way = I just gotta workout in the time I can.

-I decided! I like Blue Razz better for taste, but Grape is a close second.
-Felt good once I got started even though I trained fasted and got to the gym at dark 'o' clock.
-Pumps were decent today. Especially at the end during the isolation moves.
-No PR's, but my press is getting close to what it was pre-injury. Probably be there very soon!
-Endurance is moving up. I know getting better has to do with it, but training fasted early as **** I have been having little rest in between sets due to time limit(per say).

Serum Notes
-Taste has been covered enough. I dig the taste of both flavors.
-Same with mix-ability. Although it does clump in the container a lot, but not in the drink.
-Pumps were okay today. Nothing great, but not bad. It happens.
-Energy and Focus remains my favorite part and most pronounced effect for me.
-Still getting through workouts quicker than pre-serum
-Only negative is the recovery for me. I do bust my ass and it could be the 2 scoops pre. Could also be I respond better to mono. This would be a good time to remind I am taking no supplements outside of health supplements and Serum. Looking at that now I would probably suggest maybe a few grams of mono a few days a week, as well as about 1.5 to 2 grams of beta alanine. Both are dirt cheap. For the sake of the log I am only doing this product as stand alone. We are all different and it is still pretty early so who really knows for sure.

I saw you are doing a 5x5 type thing. I just recently hurt my shoulder myself. Going easy on pressing movements, particularly chest day. If it works out for you I may do the same.

Started the 5x5 because the Iso work is killing me. Normally it is the other way around, but compounds are fine, Iso's are just tearing my RC apart.
Just want to build true strength in the Shoulder before I blow it.

-First BB movement in a while. Could feel it as I went up a little in the right shoulder so I am not planning on any 1RM type of things.
-First time doing Flat Bench Flies in a while too. Wasn't as much weight as before, but still was decent I thought.
-Overall felt like a really good workout.
-Very slowly gaining weight at 4000 calories. Possibly too slow. It will be hard if I end up bumping up again. Still just staying here and going to keep an eye on it. Don't wanna gain TOO much fat; I know some is inevitable. Never though I'd see the day where it became hard to eat enough. Will let you guys know how it goes!
Serum Notes
-Back isn't too sore from yesterday which is awesome considering it was a better work out than the week before.
-Chest pumps were sweet today! Even got some in the arms as well. Feelsgoodbro.
-Went through this workout quick again.
-Awesome energy and focus...except in Basketball warm up. My shot was dookie today! Pissed me off lol.

-Energy and focus were big today. As I said I wasn't feeling it upon waking.
On a side note, I just gotta say for anyone who hasn't done a log that might read this I highly suggest it. Even if not many people follow. I already love working out and actually consider it fun. This being my second log I noticed that it is almost like...for lack of a better word a "placebo" effect due to the fact that you know when you are done what ever you do is going online for all to see. THIS IS NO WAY IS SAYING THAT SERUM ISN'T HAVING EFFECTS. I don't know if I am the only person who has noticed this, but I really enjoy it. Hope at least some other people enjoy reading it! lol

Freaking awesome workout! Happy as **** about the chin PR. Just to reinstate: I COULDN'T DO ONE CHIN WHEN I STARTED. Pumps were decent, but this was really brutal low reps.

Doesn't look like a lot but I have never done box squats(only sissy squats a long time ago). I have kind of plateaued and this was recommended to me. I really made a point to emphasize the pause at the bottom. I noticed it really made me drive my heels even more(good thing). I will get faster and stronger with them for a little while and see if that made me pass my squat stand still(pretty much stand still). I liked them though.
Serum
-Pump in legs was awesome after the leg extensions.
-Focus and energy great as always(although went really early so took a minute).
-Back still sore from the PR the other day, but chest and even shoulders(for the most part) feel healed already.
-Probably nothing tomorrow, but I may get in arms on Saturday.

Pump started kicking up on spider curls, then more on bangers, then it got really hard...needed to stretch it out on hammer curls. It was an awesome workout IMO and I am very happy about that. Serum continues to give me nice energy and solid focus for my workouts.

I hear ya big time man. I do most of my bbing.com time from the phone on breaks. Only reason I'm on my pc now and not asleep is because of the time change lol. I'd normally be laying in bed.

Pretty good workout. Forced in some failure type stuff on the HS machine(can't do that with barbells by myself unfortunately. Shoulder was decent today, but not as good as last week. Over all I am happy with the workout.
Pumps were decent, nothing to rave about. As we rear towards the end of this I have a pretty good feel on what I think of the product so expect a review to come soon. Certain aspects I really like, others not as much IMO, but this has been fun :D

This workout was sweet. I hobbled out of the gym today. Great energy/focus/endurance(it was kinda long, that's what she said lol). Not much in the pump area, but definitely felt my legs saying "stop it guy" lol. You guys are gonna kinda hate me, but I think I may even like grape more than blue razz now...I guess long term. Both flavors are excellent I will say.

Thanks man! I've been stuck in the same area of weight for awhile. I set the boxes up lower than parallel and completely pause. I can't go as heavy, but I am hoping after doing them for a little when I remove the box and have a motion going I move up in weight. Time will tell!

The last three days off the log I did kinda...all fun workouts. I need to do that every once in a while.
Highlights
405 Rackpull x 3(had a couple blood vessels give way from the straps)
Decline bench 185 x 6, and 195 x 3(most weight I have done with a barbell bench in a long time. Felt great.
Incoming is my final thoughts.

energy/focus
This part of the product was up there with just about any other product I have used. It was very consistent, clean energy. No crash. I think I may have had 2 or 3 days with bad focus the whole run. With how hectic things are that is awesome. This is the shining point of the product for me.
taste
I really enjoyed the taste of both grape and blue raspberry. I give a slight nod to blue raspberry. I really enjoyed the taste of both. Not too sweet, but not bitter. Very solid.
mixability
I would recommend a shaker bottle. In the glass a few clumps always settle. Not a single problem with the shaker bottle. This could be due to the inclusion of BCAAs. They never really mix well, but this was not problem. I will note the tubs clumped up so I had to break the powder apart a couple times. This is not a big deal to me either.
pump
The pump was inconsistent for me. Hard to tell to be honest. Some days it was good, others not so much...kinda like normal working out. I have used nitrates and agmatine before and I feel they both are the best IMO, and hard to live up to; agmatine could be a cheap thing to stack with this if anyone else has this sort of problem.
endurance/stmina
I did notice an increase in time I could be at the gym, but I also noticed an decrease in rest time between sets. Nothing drastic, but noticeable to me. The product must have a decent amount of beta alanine bc I got the tingles(BA helps), plus the inclusion of BCAAs may have helped in this aspect.
recovery
Recovery improved some after a coupe of weeks. This would probably be due to a lot of things, creatine being one. I know that CEE gets a lot of flak, and I personally would rather have mono, but I am a believer in the fact that you only need about 3 grams a day, and probably just workout days. With two scoops at 6000+ mgs of a creatine blend, even if less bio-available, it would still be enough to saturate muscles. Their reasoning is to avoid bloat, as well as non-responders to certain forms IIRC; I will say I had no bloat, but I never had a problem with that either.
strength
I always felt strength had a lot to do with these above factors, as I stated before, but it is worth noting that my strength had improved. I made some PR's, and my barbell bench is on the right track again.
overall grade-7/10
I really hate numbering systems, but I feel this is what people like. The reason for the 7 is it has some very nice aspects, but not higher their are somethings that I personally like better. For the record, I won't give my favorite a 10 bc that leaves no room for improvement; hence my hating the numbering system.
I would like to thank the guys at Magnum for allowing me to do this log. I really appreciate it, and I really like the shirt as well. I wear it to the gym all the time as a lifting shirt so you get some advertising there :D . I wish you guys the best, from what I can tell you are some straight up good dudes and I hope this log/review helped you guys out in some way. Wow, very awesome offer of you. You're a stand up guy.
