watched the mens round for about 5 mins.. damn looks pretty brutal. some dude just did like a 1000 thrust sqats and is now blasting out a couple hundred push ups.... whats with the hand lift before each rep??

sounds just like strongman except with "sexy" women and men as opposed to "too big/fat". It should go far as ppl love to watch WSM but say steroid this, too big that BS. Crossfit to me just seems like a cross between strongman and one of the Japanese obstacle course game shows...

I watched it and was interesting. Those guys/women are the top crossfit trainers in the US and some of those guys are far from natty. I would bet that most if not all of them were powerlifters and bodybuilders well before they jumped on the crossfit fad.

I've seen it a few times on ESPN2 as well. I must admit, I enjoy watching it on tv.

But I still have no desire to ever try it myself.

Part of me says 'that's retarded', and part understands their point about efficient movement. It's cool, but 'crossfit games' is like 'world naked tabata squat championship': it may be difficult, and impressive, but in the end they aren't really good at anything but the little niche they invented/carved out for themselves, and sometimes they look a bit silly doing it.

I think it's one of the better ways to get most people where they want to be: looking like they walked off the cast of 300, and in great shape.
