Hey nutmiscers,

I have a friend who has been lurking here reading about nutrition. There's a bro at his corporate job (said bro is also aPT) who recently told him not to bother counting calories, to just eat 6 meals a day to boost his metabolism. This PT also drinks muscle milk every 2.5 hours on the dot.

Just for fun, I want to assemble a list of questions, sort of a bro-quiz to see if I can peg every silly behavior this person does. This is just for amusement sake, you can feel free not to participate as I'm strictly doing this for my enjoyment.

What topics can you think of that are bro-tastic that have been clearly refuted and are deemed unneccessary?

Again not trying to start a shtstorm, just doing this with the nutmiscers for the lulz.

1) Meal frequency
2) Casein before bed (correct me on this one if this is still an important activity-- my understanding is that its not)
3) Simple/Complex carbs
4) Grams of protein per meal
Editing as I get replies, will check back in a bit:
5) PWO window as it pertains to protein consumption/anabolism
6) PWO DEXTROSE (LOL)

What other ones can you think of that are pretty common?

Maybe Cumulonimbus can loan me his 3 ring binder. (Did you ever assemble it Paul?)

Somatotypes.

If I am an ecto, I could eat a ton and never gain weight.

Green tea for the fat burning....

If you pair that with light weights for toning you're on the road to success.

Is whole wheat and other whole grains bad for you?

Does a person's physique matter when your looking for good nutritional advice for bodybuilding?

Is cross-fit like the best thing ever?

What do you think about the Paleo diet, veganism, and vegetarianism?

What foods should you include and exclude from your diet if you want to be ripped?

How much muscle can I expect to gain per month?

How can I get rid of my belly fat?

How can I turn my fat into muscle?

If I eat too much protein or carbs will my body store it as fat?

thanks to all who contributed. I'm sending some "I bet your coworker does this" items to my friend now, in a list form. I chose some, but not all, of what was listed. We'll see if he actually asks said bro these questions :)

This guy is a PT in Australia, he achieved a small level of fame by gaining a bunch of weight then losing it to "better understand" what his clients go through, not sure if you have heard of him in the States? Anyway check out his last few tweets on twitter, I have been struggling to stop myself from debating with him. Also if you note that he responded to me (I'm @PR1MO) about why to avoid fruit when I questioned him on it

Wow. He's the poster child for being a Bro. I can already picture him doing calf raises in the Smith Machine.

I get tempted to call him out, then I'm kinda like "meh, who cares?" But the fact that he has a book coming out combined with him milking his 15 minutes has the potential to misinform a lot of people..
