Hello deer jerky!!
Please elaborate. Is it expensive/hard/time consuming to make? Beef Jerky is quite expensive, and since I only like eating sweets, it sure as hell is a tasty sweet & savory way of getting my protein in.
As for my contribution.. nothing special. We don't need pics of the standard fridge, microwave, stove and knife lol. I'm a simple dude :(

Well I hunt and I've got all of the arrows & ammo I need so the only cost is deer feed (corn, wheat, etc) and I usually just pepper it or use a mild teriyaki marinade to inject it.
I do all of the butchering too so that's another cost that I don't have to worry about. I usually take 4 deer a year & it can make quite a bit if you know how to cut the meat properly
Edit: butchering is the most time consuming. Once you get the meat injected, you just put it in the dehydrator & it does all of the work. Put it in overnight

Hardness: Pretty easy. Cut meat into thin strips, marinate in flavours of choice then season afterwards and let it dehydrate.
Expensive: Depends. Using good cuts of meat is pointless because you're dehydrating it, so you want the leanest cut you can get (minimizes spoilage). You'd want to use Eye of Round, which essentially is the leanest cut to my knowledge and it can get pretty cheap. I think I've seen it sub-8.80 a kilo quite a bit. There are other lean cuts you can use but the less fat then the less work you have to do trimming.
Time Consuming: Depends on how thick you cut it. It can take anywhere from 2-6 hours.

If you're looking into a dehydrator and only plan on dehydrating once a week then get the model I'm about to link to. It's not "amazing" like Emma's Excalibur but this model is around 100-150 cheaper. If you're going to dehydrate everything on the planet then this isn't worth it:

Start with a french press (20 bucks) and an adjustable burr grinder (not a blade). People make the mistake of buying a cheap grinder + cheap espresso machine right off the bat and turn out garbage coffee. Then, you can spend time looking for a legit espresso machine and already have a good grinder ready to go.
I would start off with a grinder that's around 100 minimum. My Capresso (http://www.amazon.com/Capresso-Infinity-Conical-Grinder-Brushed/dp/B001QTVXCS/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1316194855&sr=8-3) does press pot and espresso grinds very well, which is giving me time to gather up funds for a nice espresso machine.

I love it! I don't use it as often as I'd like, but it makes the smoothest tomato sauce and butternut squash puree (including the skin which you can't even tell is in it after the VM takes care of it), and I use it for grinding flour and flaxseeds.
I got it as a refurb deal from their website (idk if they have anything like that available in Australia), but price was lowered because it was either used as a demo or returned within the 30 day window with a new blender container). :) Major win.
