View Full Version : You're draft pick and how you draft has nothing to do with you're success in fantasy

In my opinion, the most important things in fantasy are this

1. The Waivers - You can single handedly change you're team with waivers. Mike Vick, Steve Johnson, Ryan Fitzpatrick are perfect examples of this.

2. Trades- Trades are also huge. Deceiving people in the beginning of the season with players who had a great first game is also huge.

3. How you respond to injuries and you're back ups- It is what it says. Who you're back ups are on the bye and how you respond to player injuries are also crutial

Are you really trying to correct grammar on a forum?

are you really trying to say a draft in fantasy football has NOTHING to do with success?
you can stress free agency pickups and trades all you want but to say it has "nothing" to do with success is pretty stupid, just like your grammar

i agree that early season trades, good waiver pickups, and responding to player injuries are important, but ill be damned if a solid draft strategy does NOT play a factor in a successful fantasy manager's season.

i was adjusting my draft rankings literally until 15 mins b4 the draft.

OP forgot the most important factor of all, luck.

Ive yet to see someone draft like crap and win a league solely on picking up people and trading. Not saying i havent seen people do good just never seen anyone win.

lemme draft all defenses and kickers, it wont matter one bit when I have top WW priority in week 15.

waivers is the process of claiming ppl off free agency. Works the same way pretty much in NFL/MLB. You have to set your picks before a certain time (my league is wed night midnight) In my league, the person who has the lowest score/record gets first pick. He picks one guy, than it goes to the next lowest score/record, and he picks another. Its so the best players dont get to pick up the best free agents always

im gonna go ahead and say you play in noob free leagues than and makes sense that you would autopick

if you play in money leagues, i call bull****

vick/kolb were splitting snaps in the first few weeks and noone was really picking him up
foster was a 5th/6th round pick in drafts last year
same for DMC

Well as of now I'm ranked 3rd in my league. How do I set my picks and how do I figure out when to set them by?

every league/site is different. what site do you use? and im sure the waiver for this week has passed if you do have one. usually its teus or wednesday night unless you have a rolling one which is done everynight

then you play alone or with a group of retards. DMC was going fairly early and most leagues saw Foster drafted.

doubt this

foster and DMC were drafted in most or all leagues last year. they weren't top talent like they are now but come on

there is always talent available off FA like stevie johnson last year or peyton hillis, those guys went undrafted in many leagues especially 10-team leagues. but lets not get carried away

How about Ryan Fitzpatrick and the Cardinals defense last year? I hopped on those really early in the season and took advantage of great production out of both.

i doubt alot of ppl won their leagues because of those players. I do agree that a combo of drafting/waivers/trades win leagues but OP saying drafting has nothing to do with winning a league is retarded

and peyton hillis and brandon llyod were by far the best FA pickups last year
