Love - I'm so easy going.. My fuse is so long that I rarely get worked up over things (unless someone does/says something about my son or wife)

Don't like - I am the world's worst at remembering names. I've tried everything but I can't remember names (unless it's sports related)

What's yours? Any tips for remembering names?

Love - That I'm optimistic, people tell me all of the time I help them out with their dreams/goals and shed light for them.

Don't like - When I'm self centered...loved ones, friends...always first, then yourself.

Any tips for remembering names?

Meet less people. :D When you meet someone new, pay attention to their name as they say it, repeat it in your head, and if you are with a group of people, sometimes I'll just go around the row after I meet them and repeat their names out loud. Isn't perfect, but simply focusing on it as you learn their name helps.


Love - If I love something (like training/nutrition) I will fully immerse myself in it.

Don't like - My fuse is so short that I'm angry half the day and ready to slap the next person that talks to me.

i too have a hard time remembering names...
i have managed to remember a few by simply relating the new guy's name with another one that i do know.
example, i imagine in my head my brother john shaking hands with this new guy whose name is also john...

For remembering names: It helps to say people's names when you you talk to them or say hi. I rarely say people's name or think their name so when I need to recall it, it's not there. I do remember nearly everything about people though (eerily so, even after years of not seeing them). Just not their names.

Any tips for remembering names?Being a martial arts instructor with about 300 students I need to know a lot of names, also bearing in mind about 70% of them are kids, so I need to know the parents names as well. That is a lot to remember and it is important to learn names of new students quickly. I used to be terrible at this but here are few tips for you.

1. When they tell you their name, repeat it back out loud or to yourself.
2. Ask them a question followed by using their name, i.e. How are you today, Phil?
3. Pick a physical feature and associate with their name in your head, or if you learn something about them taht you have in common, you can use that to associate as well. Examples, Phil has facial hair, or Phil likes football.
4. End the conversation using their name again, i.e. Glad your having a good day Phil.

Repetition is the mother of skill and it is also the mother of memory. I got these same tips from my instructor and they have worked wonders for me.
