Finally is here, after years of waiting my fav game of all time. Not in love with the new direction since the noir atmosphere was what it made the game so special but it's still good old max. cant wait.

I love the max payne games. I will play this one regardless of the reviews because I actually care about his character lol.
Seems like they did away with the comic book-style cutscenes though. And Max's dialogue seems toned down a bit. Less metaphor etc. I dunno, we'll see.
I'm pretty amped though, I thought they were gonna cancel this one.
repped.

Way to totally jump the shark on a classic. I imagine the board-room went something like:
"How can we totally do away with the style and theme of our timeless pioneer and squeeze a few bucks out of the gaming community?"
"I know! Let's make Max shave his head! And while we're shamelessly ripping off characters and ideas, let's throw him in a dirty tank top a la Die Hard."
"Okay. Sounds good. What else?"
"Well, I liked that favela level in MW2. No one said anything when F.3.A.R. bit off it, let's give it a try."
"Alright. Now, what do we tell the fans who enjoyed the noir approach, dark presentation, Twin Peaks references and New York tempo?"
"Eh, fck em!"

its damn good to hear max's voice again.
by the way its made by rockstar...they never made a total crap game. so i have faith in this game. remember this is just clips and bits of the scenes+gameplay. we will see the actual gameplay footage in november perhaps.

Haha. Well Rockstar has been pretty on point lately so I'm still holding out a little hope.
When I first played the original, I wasn't expecting the inclusion of Norse mythology, the occult, and a fantastic dark atmosphere. I was really impressed. Especially because the trailer for the original max payne made it seem like a mindless shoot 'em up.

Let's just hope the new trailer was poorly put together and that they left in what we love about these games.

the music is so nostalgic. Can't wait to play this game. The 2nd one was gay as fuk, but the original is a classic

I wouldn't be so quick to say that.
Everyone thought the new Deus Ex wouldn't live up to the name.. yet it is now getting praise as one of the best games.
Besides that there are also DotA 2 and Diablo 3 coming and while people are as skeptical as you are about Max Payne 3, I'm pretty confident they will both do amazing and give a great experience.
Just give it time and we'll find out eventually. I'm not saying you should set your hopes sky high but Max Payne isn't exactly a simple series (like Call of Duty), so straight up they're either doing it for the fans or for the money. We'll see which one when it comes out.

i was stuck on the 1st one. in the subway. which wasnt far into the game. never got past that... i really did suck at pc games back then.
i did like the 2nd though. had a save point saved. and would spend hours loaing and reloading the game. trying to shoot this guy as far as possible from the ledge of the building site

Loved the first one, except the nightmare parts where you had to run on the blood or w/e it was. Thought the nightmares were a little creepy lol.

Max Payne 1 is among my top 3-5 games ever. Loved it so much. Mostly for the story.... never got around to playing 2. Is there such a thing as a game script for it? So I can just read what happened

It gets a little over-the-top in the second one, but it's still good. The ending was like:

although it looks like a long shot from the originals, i still have good faith in Rockstar. Looks like there are parts when he is back in New York though(notice the trademark leather trench). More than likely theres a complete other side that they aren't showing off yet.

FUUUUUU its goood to hear his original voice again and the original music:D
but just when i thought "hey they kept his hair yay"
*bzzzzzzzz*
:/
The rapping on the door caused my heart to dance like a professional dancer who put everything on the line, who gave it all in a minute of choerography. I was a rat in a maze and they finally caught up to me, allowing my ears to hear the last bit of politness from the thugs on the over side.
"we just wanna talk max..."
When the thugs would open up by force, they would be like the dancer and put everything on the line, but i was like the rat. Only this was no ordinary maze...this was my maze, and they were the cheese.
XD
