IMO, you just have to naturally have an extremely low set point to maintain libido at stage-worthy conditioning.
I'm now 11 weeks POST contest and my libido is just now coming back!:eek: feelsbadman....but slowly feelingbetterman:D

lul.. although i'm kinda glad you pointed this out because last time i cut i had very low sex drive and didn't even think it could be related to food intake.. figured as long as my fats were about 20% i was doing it right :/

19 and 20yrs old ... Try doing it at 35+
Try not to worry about it. Just keep everything the same in your life. The less stress you put there, the longer it will last.

3 weeks out im feeling abit cbf with sex atm to man just need more lonsome time movies , ps3 ,ect low key chill , and with mates haha ...... but most times the drives pumping some times eh either way when with the mrs its usually there ....... if not just go to sleep lol

I dont want to sound like im pimping a product. I think this is the first thread ive mentioned it besides my own log because im not a salesmen. BUt if there is one thing I noticed when starting on Cabergolean is the increase in libido. Mine was almost non existent for 2-3 months leading up to contest time and I started on it just coming out of contest season and had libido back right away. Still not where it is when im 10-12% BF but im managing to stay 12 over contest weight with reasonable libido.
I also think that DAA helped to hang onto it a bit longer dieting down....maybe.

Sa'll individual and relative in all honesty. First time I prepped at 19 I lost it at the halfway mark. This time I haven't lost it at all and it's been an almost year long journey :)

^ i did a daa buy prima force cycle 3 weeks into contest prep did 6 weeks of it imo it probly did help

I have never had a problem....my sex drive actually increases the further into prep I go. My only problem is lack of sex because I tend to fall asleep very early and don't get around to it.

There are plenty of things that "claim" to help but since I don't take anything specifically for sex drive I can't honestly say what I feel actually works. If others say they've noticed a diff by taking something then at least you have someone backing up claims.

I have noticed a nice increase in Libido with the use of D-Aspartic Acid. I plan to use it in the duldrums of contest prep and see how it helps. Other than that just turn on some porn or get your girl to wear some sexy stuff, whatever gets you going.

pretty much lost mine when entering single bf%, at the time food was more relevant than anything
don't bother getting even more shredded unless you are doing a comp, not worth it otherwise

Another question to ask is that once it's gone, when does it come back?? I'm 4.5 weeks post show and I still really don't care lol
I'll wank it here and there, but it's not even that good, or at least as good as it should be.
One plus about losing the libido though, especially if you don't have a gf, is the fact you can focus on prep. No more trying to get laid and going out on dates spending money. I did that my first 10 weeks of prep. The final 15 was spent watching TV and loved every second of it :-)

When you lose libido is an individual thing closely related to your natural set point for bodyfat. I think there is a sweet spot for optimal hormonal environment......go leaner than the sweet spot and test takes a dive.....go higher and test dips. When does it come back? It will most likely START to rebound as soon as you bring your food intake (fat content of the food) back up. But it wont fully return unless you add some bodyfat back on. Im about 3 months post contest and maintaining 12 lbs over contest weight. My libido is waaaay better than it was at 6 weeks out but its still not like it should be when im sitting at 185 lbs and 12% BF.

Not necessarily. If your diet is not on point.....for instance if fat/cholesterol is low or unbalanced, or you have a vitamin or mineral deficiency due to low caloric intake (vitamin A, E or zinc for instance) it can lead to a less than optimal hormonal state. You may very well be able to maintain a much more lean physique once calorie intake and balance is back on track. Lots of factors at play.

In addition to the advice given, your rate of weight/fat loss as well as food source can have a pretty big impact, especially the leaner you get. If you are around the 12% mark and having trouble, that gives me the impresson your approach was not very optimal - either the macro ratios, the food sources, the rate of loss, or a combination...

if you find something please let me know cause ill be all over it the next time i prep!! I swear i lose my sex drive a month in prep and dont get it back until months after my show is over and i didnt even get to 4% BF my last show!! i was always a fatty growing up tho so im sure my set point is higher than most..im staying around 10-11% this offseason and im positive its below what my body likes cause im still always hungry and my sex drive..although good..isnt nearly as good as i remember

As you approach critical / potentially dangerous levels of low BF% your body starts to adjust it's function to conserve energy. Metabolism starts to slow down, certain hormone levels start to reduce. Testosterone is one of them. The simple explanation is that testosterone is a sex/reproductive hormone. When you are dealthly lean the body doesn't waste it's energy with reproduction. Instead it slowly shuts that part of you down because it doesn't view it as an essential function. The leaner you get the more prone your body is shutting down less essential functions.
The process is reversed as you increase your BF% .... up to a certain point and then when you're obese you run the risk again of survival type responses with respect to function and hormones.
The body is a very complex machine and MUCH smarter than we think. It's not easy to fool but it makes it easier to deal with the transitions once you realize why it's happening and that it's only temporary.

Yup...I just actually had blood test done and came up low in testosterone. Damn you, contest prep! Meh....It'll all come back as I raise calories, specifically fat, but it really is a bummer that doing something we love, bodybuilding, causes such undesired hormonal effects.
I have a higher setpoint. I remember when I was fat, I was looking to bone anything that moved. Right now, I can't care less :-/

I used P6 by Cellucor on my prep- didn't think it was doing too much until I stopped using it about three weeks out from show day. Don't think I had a single boner those last three weeks lmao :/
