Is your life just another version of how everything should be done? Getting a college degree, to obtain some 9-5 job you'll most likely hate but stick to because you don't have the guts to do what you really want. Admit it.
Are you just another lazy bone unsatisfied with the way you look in the mirror, trying to starve yourself to look like a brainless model in the drama magazines because you don't have the discipline to f*cking just get up and work out? Admit it.
Do you blame everything and everyone for whatever goes wrong in your life? Look into your own eyes, see the coward you are and the guts you lack to deal with the **** life shoots at you. Admit it.
Everything is always too hard for you, isn't it? You don't work out when it's cold, or when it's raining, or when it's hot, or when there's wind or a f*cking blizzard going on. This is why you lose. Admit it.
Would you gladly give up family and friends when there's money and fame to be earned, because you don't have the courage to follow the good in your heart instead of the easy path of wealth and greed? Admit it.
No education has ever made any man rich.
No magazine has ever made any man ripped.
No complaining has ever made the world better.
No excuses have ever finshed any race.
No money has ever bought anyone happiness.
Everyone knows the true path to succeed in life lies within their own heart. Few people are brave enough to follow it.
It's your choice.

New Levi's advertisement campaign is pretty awesome, not gon' lie. Not a fan of 99% of marketing and advertisements, but Levi's is inspired by Walt Whitman's work, so I approve.

Vietnamese Buddhist monk protesting the treatment of Buddhists in Vietnam. A human being no different than you or I, out of sheer will and determination, sets himself on fire - he does not flinch, he does not move, he does not scream, he does not suffer. He sits there out of sheer mental power and focus as though he were sitting in the shade. Just goes to show you what humans are capable of if we set our minds to it.

Yeah his best friend had just died, he started getting into drugs again & was never the same fighter.. “Bruce had me up to three miles a day, really at a good pace. We’d run the three miles in twenty-one or twenty-two minutes. Just under eight minutes a mile [Note: when running on his own in 1968, Lee would get his time down to six-and-a half minutes per mile].
So this morning he said to me “We’re going to go five.” I said, “Bruce, I can’t go five. I’m a helluva lot older than you are, and I can’t do five.” He said, “When we get to three, we’ll shift gears and it’s only two more and you’ll do it.” I said “Okay, hell, I’ll go for it.”
So we get to three, we go into the fourth mile and I’m okay for three or four minutes, and then I really begin to give out. I’m tired, my heart’s pounding, I can’t go any more and so I say to him, “Bruce if I run any more,” —and we’re still running-“if I run any more I’m liable to have a heart attack and die.” He said, “Then die.” It made me so mad that I went the full five miles.
Afterward I went to the shower and then I wanted to talk to him about it. I said, you know, “Why did you say that?” He said, “Because you might as well be dead. Seriously, if you always put limits on what you can do, physical or anything else, it’ll spread over into the rest of your life. It’ll spread into your work, into your morality, into your entire being. There are no limits. There are plateaus, but you must not stay there, you must go beyond them. If it kills you, it kills you. A man must constantly exceed his level.”

inb4 bashing but I have to say Greg Plitt is quite an inspiration to me. Sure he looks fantastic (no heaumeau) but his mindset is where it's at IMO. No limits, everything is possible, man the fukk up, just do it, go get what you want, don't let anyone stop you, enjoy the ride. Something like that..
the interview at the end of this video, make me lol and pumped up at the same time! he made me start training early morning and I love it.. (starting minute 1:40)

Hard work beats talent (but only if talent doesn't work hard)
Necessarily, people who are exceptionally talented are also exceptionally rare. But from what we know about the prevalence of procrastination, people who work hard are also pretty rare too. Most of the time, you are going to be end up competing against rivals with one of these attributes, talent or hard work, not both. Those with natural aptitude and the willingness to put in the effort are as rare as diamonds, and twice as valuable. If you see one, take a picture, get an autograph, and wish them good luck. This world has problems and we especially need people like them.

Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they've been given than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact. It's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. It's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing.
Weak people dont believe the above. Average people dont believe the above.
Dont be average. Dont be weak.

Manu have you read Beyond Brawn? I am working my way through it and it's great. Some fantastic quotes to be found in there as well. I really like this one in particular:
"Never bemoan the discipline that must accompany serious training. Never bemoan the discipline that must be applied to your diet and other components of recovery. To have the opportunity to apply all this discipline is a blessing. Appreciate it, and savor every moment of implementing that discipline. You will not be able to train forever. Eventually you will not be able to apply dedication and determination to anything, let alone your training, diet and recovery. So be sure you make the absolute most of the present!"
A completely different way of looking at it. Don't see working hard to improve yourself (in any way IMO) as a chore, but rather an opportunity. The day will come that you can no longer work on yourself, so take control now.

Weight + Gravity+ Slow human reaction = Weight Drops Inevitably
Yes I know 200lbs will fall/accelerate at the same rate as 1000lbs if using G=9.8m/s^2 therefore that weight will drop to the floor before most people can process and react that it is in fact dropping. The weight in this video is crucial becuase it will be nearly impossible for all the people to react at once and actually grab the weight before it drops.

What is often overlooked because it is so commonplace with athletes today is that Sanders never celebrated after making a big play or scoring a TD. He was all business. Nothing bothers me more than watching a player celebrate after gaining a 1st down and their team trails by a ridiculous amount.

Yup. When Sanders scored...it was like nothing for him. No big deal. Gives ball to the ref and then just runs off field.

Every morning this guy walks into my gym at 7AM. I am half-way through my training and he always greets me with a polite nod and a few words. He then proceeds his way and gets to work.
Oh, wait, he doesn't walk in actually.. he rolls in. In his wheelchair. His legs don't function anymore. And every time he is in the gym he does everything completely by himself. Without help he pulls his body out of his chair onto the machines he uses, and back. Just seeing him struggle getting out of his chair, makes me feel sad and happy at the same time. Sad that a man like this is in this situation, happy that he shows there are no limits no matter how bad you think you have it. The guy can not walk and has no reason to not make his way to the gym every single day. He obviously doesn't look like Arnold and you can show me all kind of jacked tank-top wearing bro-science spitting kids, but THIS guy is more inspirational than anything I have ever seen in a gym.
One can not stress enough the importance of physical activity, even when it is limited in whatever way. You work with what you have and you don't complain. You change what you can control and you let go of what you can not control.
Without feeling sorry for him, he reminds me to be content with what I have been given. All these minor things in your life or just during your day that can bring you down, set you back, make you feel sad.. it can be very, very insignificant if you look at it in the right light. I'm not saying you should rationalise everything just because there are people who have it worse. But it is important to never forget all the good things in your life and how lucky you actually are to be in that position.
Do your work, enjoy the ride and be happy with all aspects of it. The progress, the improvements but also the setbacks. Those moments you feel you're not getting anywhere. Remember you are already somewhere you were not 1 year ago, and there's only more to come. As you as you are willing to put in the work and don't complain about it. It's a privilege to be able to take care of your body like you do.
Just wanted to share.

I'm stuck at a hotel, waiting on a flight that has been delayed 48 hours, just found out that it looks like I'm going to miss Christmas for the 3rd year straight. I am on vacation, wasting my vacation days waiting for a plane to get up running on a Air Force base I've never been to my whole life , no cell phone, once I finally get out of South Korea who knows what happens when I land in Seattle, considering my flight has been delayed like 3 times now. Don't know when I'm going to get home, and today I still found a way to lift. What's your excuse?
Not trying to be rude, but what is the relevance to the thread?

We all have great inner power. The power is self-faith. There’s really an attitude to winning. You have to see yourself winning before you win. And you have to be hungry. You have to want to conquer.
Good things don’t happen by coincidence. Every dream carries with it certain risks, especially the risk of failure. But I am not stopped by risks. Suppose a great person takes the risk and fails. Then the person must try again. You cannot fail forever. If you try ten times, you have a better chance of making it on the eleventh try than if you didn’t try at all
Strength does not come from winning. Your struggles develop your strengths. When you go through hardships and decide not to surrender, that is strength

Not exactly the norm for this topic, but saw this on a status and had to share it somewhere.
"It was a busy morning, about 8:30, when an elderly gentleman in his 80′s arrived at the hospital to have stitches removed from his thumb. He said he was in a hurry as he had an appointment at 9:00 am. The nurse took his vital signs and had him take a seat, knowing it would be over an hour before someone would be able to see him. I saw him looking at his watch and decided, since I was not busy with another patient, I would evaluate his wound. On exam, it was well healed, so I talked to one of the doctors, got the needed supplies to remove his sutures and redress his wound. While taking care of his wound, I asked him if he had another doctor’s appointment this morning, as he was in such a hurry. The gentleman told me no, that he needed to go to the nursing home to eat breakfast with his wife. I inquired as to her health. He told me that she had been there for a while and that she was a victim of Alzheimer’s Disease. As we talked, I asked if she would be upset if he was a bit late. He replied that she no longer knew who he was, that she had not recognized him in five years now. I was surprised, and asked him, ‘And you still go every morning, even though she doesn’t know who you are?’ He smiled as he patted my hand and said, ‘She doesn’t know me, but I still know who she is.’"
