I was looking at the destination truth forums. its a show on syfy where they look for monsters and bigfoot and that sort of stuff. sort of a ghost hunters but its legends.
I came across a post that was very similar to what I have experienced. The guy was saying that he thinks they should do a show looking for skinwalkers. here is the post
"Ok you should look into Native American Skinwalkers. Growing up in New Mexico and hearing stories of Skinwalkers was always something that came up in a conversation. I never really believed in it until i started hearing things around my house. Here's my firsf encounter as a kid.
The encounter was something i didn't see visually but heard early morning and what I heard was gunshots and a lady screaming and scratching on the outside house. Nobody heard anything at all. Second ecounter was junior year. Talking on the phone and seeing the shadow of the house in front of the yard. My friends and I were just looking in the front when we noticed something moving on top of the house.
What we saw was a huge human figure laying down and slowly standing up and we ran in front and saw whatever it was jump off his house and sprinted into the field. I say again jumped off a 30 foot roof and sprinted. People have their own stories and just speaking of them is scary. They say the only way to kill them is shooting them with a gun that has bullets that have been blessed by a medicine man. I gotta warn you that if you mess with them that you will be cursed. They supposedly only come out at night and are attracted to whistling. I could go on and on but that'll be a book. "
This struck a cord with me because about 15 years ago or so I was living across the street from where i live now. I went to go to work super early in the morning, like 5am. i was the only person up at that hour and it was still dark. As i got in the car which was facing the house, i could see a couple people dressed in black on the roof. Once they noticed that i saw them they ran across the roof, jumped to the neighbors roof and went over the apex of their house and i couldnt see them anymore.
Its a long jump to the neighbors house too, about 10 feet or so and they garage where they took off from has one of those gravel type roofs so jumping would be very hard. Oddly they didnt make any noise either.
Of course i was scared but i chalked it up to being overly tired and put it behind me.
Once when I was a kid i was woken up in the middle of the night by noises on the roof. it sounded like a group of people walking or climbing or something, was very noisy. I could picture them walking on the peak of the house. Then i heard a really lous slam like someone sledge hammering once on each side of the peak. it started at the far end of the house. I head one series of slams there then one in the center of the roof then one right above me. It all happened in rapid time, one right after the other. I could picture i giant machine landing on the roof like it was landing gear or something landing heel to toe.
My dog was going crazy barking and I was scared to death as it shook the whole house. After that i heard nothing.
A few weeks prior to this my cat had had kittens and they would sleep in the backyard in a little box. They were big enough to handle so i am thinking they were 6 weeks or so.
The next morning all of the kittens were strewn across the front yard and they were all dead.
I was a little kid at the time so I didnt have any enemies that would be that mean nor did anyone else in the house. It was scary.
What got me about that guys story above is that i whistle alot. I mean everyday, its one of my favorite things to do. My daughters boyfriend says it attracts evil spirits so his family never whistles.
I might have to rethink my hobby now.
