Need your help brahs,

Woke up this morning ans switched on the lappy (Gateway VR46 Edition), left it running while i went to get some brekky, came back to this:

'Intel UNDI, PXE-2.1 (BUILD 082)
Copyright (C) 1997-2000 Intel Corporation

For Atheros PCIE Ethernet Controller v2.0.0.9(05/8/09)

Check cable connection!
PXE-MOF: Exiting Intel PXE ROM.
No bootable device -- insert boot disk and press any key
_'

And it does literally nothing pressing any button, (apart from the on/off button which just brings it back to this screen.

The laptop has no disc drive, i dont even have a plug in one at the moment.

Any ideas brahs?

It seems the laptop is not reading the hard drive. Maybe your HDD has a loose connection or has been jarr'd loose somehow. Try reseting the drive into the socket, and boot the machine up.

Your hard drive is lose or bad. Open up the panel on the back of your laptop that has a symbol that looks like a cylinder. Make sure the hard disk is nice and snug. If it is, and it still doesn't work, it's bad. Send in for a replacement. I hope you backed your stuff up somewhere else.

Just a side note. If it does start working again, back your stuff up somewhere else.

as they said hard drive is most likely toast... i recommend pulling it out and trying it on a different machine... it could be only a partial corruption, enough to keep windows from booting but not enough to make the data inaccessible... plug it into another motherboard on a desktop, or use a sata to usb adapter to hook it up to another machine
