Ok, finally decided to commit to Starting Strength. My head is already wanting to add all the accessory work, and I keep thinking about the size vsstrength stuff. I am hoping to gain size and 'recomp' my skinny fat self. I know I could go for 3 more months reading and thinking instead of doing, so am committing to starting strength. For 3 months (hopefully more) but trying not to even think about anything, change anything, give up, etc for 3 months. Hoping for some good progress. Just had to share that for a little accountability. Thanks. :)

Of course, any of you ladies who have done SS or have 'exercise ADD' shared experience would be great.... :)

The first couple workouts of Starting Strength are going to be a bit boring, I'll give you that. It's about building comfort under the bar, and you're supposed to start well below your 5RMs if you have them.

But it get's tough real quick if you add weight every workout as directed. You're not just doing 3 exercises. You're giving your ALL toward the squat, bench/press, deadlift/clean. If you're doing that, you shouldn't want to do anything else for awhile. Even in Madcows Linear version (intended for intermediates), the accessory work isn't that much. Some of which is just put in since Bill Starr just knew guys would end up doing it anyway (*cough* barbell curls).

IlliniStrive- Lol at the barbell curls.... I actually don't think i'll find the program boring! And I really like the idea of working hard for a shorter period of gym time. It is just my head that messes with me, even though logically I know it's not true. SO I am thinking the random number of 3 months - when I hear my thoughts creep in (' this won't work. it's not enough. you won't gain muscle like this. you need a bodypart split. etc etc etc.) I tell myself- nope! do your 3 months then think about something else! Lol. I have already done this multiple times today! SO it isn't me getting bored, it is me second guessing. That is why I have never stuck with anything before, and my body hasn't changed! How do I knwo how far below to start? I remember reading no form breakdown, but not specifics etc. Maybe I started too heavy (for me) today....

Cynthia- Good idea! Not sure if I feel comfortable putting it all out there, lol. But that would probably be helpful...
