Hello everyone, I am a competitive powerlifter. I have been competing in powerlifting for about 4-5yrs now. I am thinking of doing my first bodybuilding contest next year I was wondering if I should do a 15 week prep, 20 week prep or if even if yall even think I maybe shouldn't even think about competing next year? Here is some pics for you experienced guys to look at and let me know. Thanks for any help.

At least 20 mate, 30 if possible.
You have a fair bit of fat to shift, and you don't want to sell yourself short on time. The sooner you start the higher you can place your calories also, don't make my mistake and leave it until the last minute and need to shift 2lbs per week!

^I agree. You've got a substantial amount of body fat to move. I would want at least 30 weeks, personally. Give yourself time to lose it slowly...15-20 weeks would either be too fast to lose the amount you need to, or you wouldn't get conditioned enough.
IMO, start slowly trimming up now and re-evaluate when you pick a show date next year.

20 weeks is fine man, just hit it hard from day 1.

Hey mate,
I looked alot like you when i started my prep.
I dieted for 26 weeks to get down- im 7 weeks out at 9% bodyfat now.
Hit it hard mate, you CAN do it!

You got a log with updated pictures mate? That sounds like an epic transformation thus far!

Get your body fat checked figure out your lean body mass then you can figure out about how much you need to weigh at a show by multiplying that number by 1.05. So lean body mass x 1.05 =target weight. Goal is to loose about 1-2 lbs a week precontest. You will usually loose more when you first start your diet. Then you make adjustments from there. When you get around 10-12 bf then you could target a show.
