Do I need to worry about my sugar intake?? I'm shooting for 30g a day and I'm ALWAYS over at least 10g. Is this something I need to really focus on?

Also, I feel like from one day to the next I can go from looking lean to kind of pudgy and bloated. Is this from water, and If so, how do I avoid this?

It's really about your cals and the rest of your diet. That said, reducing extraneous sugar isn't a bad idea. Diet sodas, cereals, bars, snacks, etc. Making your own food from scratch helps.

Bloating... Lol! If you find a way to combat it you will be rich beyond your wildest dreams! Between hormones, carbs, sodium, and food sensitivities it's almost unavoidable. It's better to understand where it comes from and not freak out when it happens.

I don't drink any soda or have much snack wise at all. We cook 99% of all our meals, I'm so sick of chicken, pork and fish sweet potatoes and veggies hahahaa!!

I didn't know all that affected the bloating, I guess I should start paying better attention! I wonder if its the cottage cheese....sodium and dairy may be a bad combo! Thanks alot for your imput!

One thing I notice about bloating is that I am usually bloat-ier after working out and the following day, but the day after that (the day I'm back in the gym) I'm all lean again. I think it has to do with muscles swelling and retaining water to heal. Not 100% on that one, but a guess based on the little amount of biology information left in my head.

I can def see that! Seems like I work my butt off in gym and then the next day I feel chunky, day after that I feel lean as I'm getting ready to hit the gym...hmmmmm Thanks!

Not sure what you mean about shooting for 30g a day. Sugar is something you should avoid. Natural sugars found in fruit can be good but you should still eat them in moderation. I would try to reduce sugar from your diet as much as possible.

If you are feeling bloated a lot, I would try to increase stomach acidity. Try HCL or organic raw apple cider vinegar.

30g is including sugar from my fruit, protein powder, kashi etc. SO, what you're saying is sugar is fine as long as it's from whole foods? I was just trying to get a %, but that's great if I don't have to worry about it.

OH and thanks for the tip with the ACV, I'll try that!
