I took this photo from facebook (direct link).
I went to an ANB (Australian Natural Bodybuilding Federation) comp on the weekend and this was the novice division. left came third, middle came first and the right came second. Both the left and right go to my gym but the guy in the middle.... wow he ended up winning the overall. Had great condition and absolute SIZE! Could not believe it was his first comp.

Great physique......yes. But why call the guy out as being on the gas? Perhaps he has been training his butt off for years and just decided it was time to start competing?

What Oak said ^.
BUT it's odd that he was the face of the supplement company who hosted the event. Also, unlike the INBA there weren't any ASADA (WADA equivalent) backstage testing competitors. Is that usual for a natural event?
I hear he's a very humble and nice bloke, kudos to him for looking epic!

Oak you know people will try to find fault in anything they can't achieve My Training partner for instance David Kimmerle is on the cover of several mags and just judged the wbff http://www.facebook.com/david.kimmerle tested bodybuilder not just urine but blood as well. Put in the years of hard work first with proper diet then flame someone the guy looks great.

Eh, could be. From the sounds of the Andy's second post this show was about as well tested as the "natural" NPC shows in the US...so I wouldn't be very surprised.
Regardless, great physique. Should've just acknowledged it and kept my other thoughts to myself. :)

I can (and will) achieve a great physique...and I'm working my ass off, thank you. I'd hardly call what I did flaming.

I hear you.....but if someone claims to be natural. I give them the benefit of the doubt. I think calling people out is a good way to limit yourself in your own mind even if it is subconsciously....."oh THAT physique is only achievable on gear". Maybe, maybe not. I prefer to shoot for the moon and fall a little short.

haha bud, this is a forum; vent your spleen as you see fit! :)
But there is something dubious about the lack of testing at this show. I know a guy who won Mr Australia last year in the same organisation and he was tested and unfortunately tested positive for geranium oil extract which is a banned stimulant that is found in most pre workout supps.

Hmmm...never thought of it like that. You're quite the sage, Oak.

True, but I've been a bit quick to pull the trigger the past few days in some of my posts...starting to get a bit nutty and temperamental at 12 days out. :D

I just heard that that guy was stripped of his title due to failing a drug test. HOWEVER, he has only been banned for 2 years. Those that have taken steroids are banned for life, so I'm not sure what he took.
