Wuddup everyone,

Ok, so heres my problem and what I've noticed.

At the moment I just workout at home and I'm joining a gym next week, i use dumbells, barbell and a flat bench.

The other day I bench pressed and after that my muscles started to ache..not sore...but ache. This happened last week also when i trained triceps. My chest and triceps ache really bad and I haven't lifted in 2 days.

Whats the cause of this? Am i injured or what? Note - I haven't trained chest in couple of months, could that be the reason? Well, I haven't trained my whole body for months, but when i train biceps etc I don't get any aches.

Please advise me someone... can i keep lifting?

Thanks

It's because you haven't worked out in a few months.

Your not injured, pansy.

Hey, u sure?

I trained chest the week before and all that happened is I was sore, but this week im acheing hard...

I mean...the aches are really really bad..so i was wondering if it was an injury...so how does someone know if their injured or not? whats the criteria?

If it hasn't gone away in a week or 2 go see a physiotherapist. I know that some of my muscles get completely and utterly wrecked if I stay away from the gym for a while and then come back.

Soreness is normal...pain is not. Be able to distinguish between the two.

Yea i can.

As i said above, the week before when i trained chest it was sore....but this week after training it was acheing really really bad...thats why I wrote this thread to see if muscle acheing/pain is a criteria of an injury?

For example, if i injured my muscle or anyone in fact....How would they know it? can you please explain to me how it feels and the other criteria?

Thanks

Generally, sharp and rapid onset pain is injury. Limited range of motion and pain in surrounding joints is injury.

Dull aching (especially while stretching) which subsides after a few days is usually soreness.
