For anyone who bought the materials for the CSCS test, what materials did you find most beneficial for test prep? I have my BS in Exericse Science (Concentration in Ex Phys) and I just want to strengthen my background with this cert.

Thanks

Read over the book (especially plyos), do the practice tests online, do the quizzes in the symposium, and then study your weak areas. Passed with only a few wrong just by doing that.

I just bought the book and 3 practice exam booklets. You must study every nook and cranny of the book because they will ask you questions from everywhere including many graphs and diagrams. The practice exams are very helpful because they teach you to answer questions the way that they will ask them on the test. I also have a background in exercise science that was all I needed to pass the test.

How long did everyone study before they took the exam? I have a kinesiology B.S. and am looking for a realistic deadline to set for myself

with your science background I think you should do fine on CSCS.

I'm currently studying for it as well. All I'm using is the main textbook. It's on Amazon for around $40. For me it's going to take longer because I don't have a health science background and the anatomy and those sections are going to take a bit of time for me to learn. From what I've heard the book and the practice exams are all you'll need.

Yea I have my degree in Exericse Science. I think i'll be ok but i'm going to buy the textbook and the practice exams. Our science backgrounds should be enough.

I have been studying for about a month now. I bought the book of amazon, it was about 40$. I have a background in neuroscience, which sadly only helped with the first few chapters.
My goal is to take the test by Aug.

Keep me informed on this - one year from now, I'll be finishing my last semester to get my B.S. in Exercise Science. I'll all need is an internship to get my degree which I'll probably do over the summer, thinking of studying for the CSCS during that internship and sitting for the exam after I finish the internship. Curious to see how easy / hard you think the exam is with an Exercise Science background - I've heard it's still hard, I also talked to a PT who took the CSCS exam one week after getting the book with a background and Kines. and passed it first try.
