Hi there, just wanting to document my 5x5 progress on a location where I will get called out if I ever goof. Also I love when people can give me constructive criticism and help me to improve.
I am currently working through Glenn Pendlay 5x5 strength program. As follows is the "plan"
Monday:
Squats: 5x5
Bench: 5x5
Rows: 5x5
Weighted hypers: 2x8
Weighted situps: 4x8
Wednesday:
Squat: 4x5
Incline Bench: 4x5
Deadlift: 4x5
Situps: 3x#
Friday:
Squats 4x5 1x3 1x8

weighted dips: 3x5-8
barbell curls: 3x8

Today was Monday of week three. I hit all my lifts today which is good, as I am still building up to week four which were my highest lifts prior to starting this.
Today's workout
Final sets were Squats 200x5 Bench 205x5 Row 170x5.
Focus: 7.5/10. Got in, got out. Did what was necessary.
Energy: 7/10. Feeling kinda lazy today, have been off stimulants since I started this and not wanting to take any until my lifts begin to slow.
Strength: 9/10. Everythingwentasexpected.jpg
Supplements: Two scoops of Xtend intra workout. One scoop myofusion post workout. As well as the usual fish oil and glucosamine.
I am eating above maintenance and hoping that I can gain some size and strength from this all together.
Weight: 205lbs on weigh in today.

Today's workout
Final sets were Squats 150x5 Incline Bench 165x5 Deadlift 240x5
Left my sheet at home and had to pull out my phone to calculate all the lifts. Memory was wrong on incline bench and I jumped by 10 lbs instead of 5. Oh well, I got it for 3 and next week I will hit it for 5, yeah buddy!
Focus: 8/10. Had my metallica and things
went well.
Energy: 8.5/10 Was fired up.
Strength: 8/10 Everything went good, strong on all lifts and felt good about it all together.
Supplements: Two scoops of Xtend intra workout. One scoop myofusion post workout. As well as the usual fish oil and glucosamine.

Cooked some beauty whole wheat pasta for meal 4 with dry pork ribs... Getting pumped for tomorrows heavy day.

Skull Crushers: 80+EZ bar. x 6/5/not enough.
Workout was good today lots of energy. Next week I'm going to start pushing more past what the sheet says as I am getting back to my old PRs. Gonna be a good week, can't wait for the gains!
Overall workout: 8.75/10
Supplements: One scoop myofusion post, 2 scoops Xtend intra, Fish oil, glucosamine, and ZMA

Squat: 205x5 --- back got weird on last rep, only got 4 of them done.
Bench: 210x5
BB Row: 175x5
Worked out at 8am today! Earliest in a while, felt good, but I prefer around noon. Still eating a ton of food, above maintaining. Weighed in at 206 today, so a slight gain in mass. Still looking pretty lean though. Pumped for Wednesday, come at me deadlifts @ 5x250!

Incline Bench: 165x3. Couldn't get the last two without a little help
Deadlift: 250x5
Core: situps and such with weight x 3
BB shrugs: 135x10 225x10 315x8 365x2
Was fired up and gave some shrugs a go, grip was done by 315 and my hands are still throbbing haha. Hook grip for the win :)
Supplements: Protein post, 1 scoop green mag preworkout along with 1 scoop white flood, 1 scoops Xtend intra with 1 scoop purple wrath, Fish oil, glucosamine, and ZMA.
wanting to get back into creatine, my sample pack from controlled labs came today, used those, my full tub of green mag should be here tonight, can't wait to try it consecutive days, had lots of energy.

My 10lbs of NOW whey protein isolate came today along with my Green Mag. Going to start up the ol' creatine to try and squeeze out that extra rep! Got a final tomorrow and saturday morning... Will that stop me from hitting the gym? YEAH RIGHT

Went out last night and met Jay Cutler, the man is a beast! His traps likely are larger than my arms. My mind was blown ! That right there is motivation my friends!

Bench stalled out.. Maybe too much partying with Mr. O on the weekend! I'll have to tighten up my nutrition and perhaps and a bit more calories. Have been ~ 4000 will up it a bit and check the scale / mirror in a week.
Nothing comes easy!

Incline Bench: 165x5. Got all 5 reps this week compared to 3 last week, was a good thing.
Deadlift: 255x5
Core: Used the rope with 140 standing doing crunches with 3 sets
Calf raises on smith machine, 205x20, 275x20, 275x20.
And several calf raises on their own (10 slow 10 fast BW for each leg)
Supplements: Protein post, 1 scoop green mag preworkout along with, 2.5 scoops Xtend, Fish oil, glucosamine, and ZMA.
Was reading about Arnold and he was saying how it takes 3 years working calves three times a week to get them to pop. I'm going to do some every day in the gym, different type of exercise each day.
Edit: weigh in was ~ 207 today.

Hit all my goals, wasn't sure if I would because I planted like 400 trees yesterday on a farm. Lower back and traps felt sore this morning from that, but everything went better than expected. Monday is going to be a good push for me, I'll be eating 4.5k ish this weekend to get my growth on.

Breakfast (8:00)
1 Cup Oatmeal, 2 eggs, 1 cup 2 % milk
Snack (10:30)
One cup trail mix, half can of tuna/salmon
Lunch (1:00)
3 eggs/burger, potato, 1 tablespoon olive oil.
Snack (4:00)
Half can of tuna/salmon, cheese, cup of pasta.
Dinner (7:00)
Chicken breast/burger + 1 cup pasta, 1 tablespoon olive oil.
Night snack (10:30)
4 Glasses 2 % milk
Late snack (2:00 am)
1 Scoop casein whey
I will be eating basically like this, vegetables will be added in with the meals, didn't bother putting them down. Workout days will include an extra one cup of oats and one scoop protein post workout.
~ 4.2k calories with vegetables and all the trimings included. I will keep an eye on my growth and reevaluate if I am gaining too much fat, or not gaining anything!

Squat: 215x8 --- last two were a little gross but I was feeling it
Bench: 220x3 --- needed help on 4th and 5th so I didn't count them
BB Row: 185x5 --- getting heavy had to put a little English on them.
Core: Decline weighted situps, pendulums/windshield wipers, decline weighted situps
Hyper extensions: 35x10 35x11
Going to the lake for the summer... Gym doesn't open for a week so I decided to put a little more effort in today and did accessory lifts as follows....
Cheat Curls: 115x8 115x8 115x8
Arnold Press: 60x8 60x8 60x8
Supplements: One scoop myofusion post, 2 scoops Xtend intra, Fish oil, glucosamine, and ZMA. Had a sample of 1MR pre workout... gave good energy, would recomend.
Weighed in at 209lbs today, thanks to all the chocolate dipped bacon at brunch yesterday.
Will likely not be able to update this for a little while, but I will keep track of my lifts and get my progress logged as soon as I have access to internet!

I have switched to a different split fron the 5x5 to more of a layne norton phat split, this is day one, legs day. I am really wanting to increase my squat which has plateaued at about 250x 3-5 reps. I'll hopefully update this more bow that I have an iPhone which is sick.

The flies and hammers were super setted as well as the push ups and chin ups.
In a new gym that has dumb bells that go past 40lbs, so I'm really going to emphasize them for my workouts in the near future.

Looking to keep my squat below parallel and under control, so I am working hard with supplementary lifts and mainly trying to get it to where it should be relative to my upper body lifts.
After the squats my legs and lower back became deadly tired so I decided to just do some cleans... final sets about 80% of my max, I will definitely feel them legs tomorrow morning!!!

I'm trying to work into the front squats to add them as a good strength builder for my quads, and my hamstrings are severely lacking, so some bodyweight action is hopefully going to initiate some growth. I want to get my lower body way stronger than it currently is, so I will be blitzing carbs today for some hardcore surplus action. Any advice for how to change the workout with strength in mind?

After the workout my legs were feeling huge, looking in a mirror they had the craziest pump, felt like I added inches to my legs. Going for all you can eat sushi tonight, fuarrrkkk talk about carb blitz day.
