Knowing you are in HS and live at home, do you ever share meals with your parents (and I assume just eat different things than they do)? Do they care you don't eat what they eat?
They pay for your groceries I assume?

I live alone, so no I guess lol. However when they were here I would do my own stuff. I enjoy cooking so I made them full out meals such as satay chicken, coconut peanut chicken stirfry served with basmatic, steak, BBQ's, etc. So as much as I cooked for myself, I prepared a lot of "non-macro friendly" foods for them.

Ya, same thing here. It "assumes" resting cals. Same with when you don't wear it. :cool: Tomorrow, like you said, it will track the full day. Assuming you wear it.

I've worn in on my calf and it's pretty much the same.
Might get more variance. You won't know that though until you've had it on your arm for a while vs days where you have it on your leg.
I have never worn it where people can see lol. F that. :D

Who drills that into you?
Some people do, some don't.
General consensus is say for someone wanting 0.5lb/week = 1500-1600kcal surplus.
Translates to ~200-250kcal everyday OR (someone training 4/week) ~400kcal on workout days.
Difference = negligible, plus, with cycling arguably you could take advantage of having that larger surplus on training days.
How the body is recovering? Why do you need a surplus to recover? Training will largely dictate this too. Train stupidly, you most likeyl won't recover. Hell, I can recover in a deficit ;) Lots of people MAKE gains in a deficit.
Thus, if you are eating maintenance on an off day (say, what the bugg says) you aren't depriving your body of calories?
But, agree, can be downfall. Can also be a huge plus. I know I now have the ability to easily lose weight and not eat 2000kcal. It can show you the beauty of not being a lazy bastard. The OCD thing is something you need to manage though. I started to get a hint of this, and as soon as I did, I just took it off. Now, I primarily use it sporadically (maybe 2-3x/week) and mostly on off days.
Srs, 3550 burnt on an 'off' day - helps to gauge things!
**For me there seems to roughly be a ~3% error. So, otherwise, damn accurate.
Well cant really say drilled but more the whole "You grow out side the gym" Dont cal cycle crap. But you are right ;) I really would like to see what I burn on off days or heck just while at work. I probably destroy calories per hour alone at work.
Edit: Yeah thats also a big 2nd reason why I have yet to buy one. Not sure if I could even have it on at work, OR Scrub so not sure if someone would bitch about it even tho it would be semi covered by my shirt I could care less about something seeing it. Most people think I am odd to start with >_>
I guess I could just wait for a full week of log workout to roll in but if you dont mind would you consider spending a few minutes running over your split as for lifts and set/rep range? I am very excited to see the out come. Loving all the good info in this log

like for me i make up eg 7 dif total food logs and have dif foods each day for the week
but always 1-2 per week ill do a whole new menu for what i crave for :)
p.s curiouse as phuck of what your arms + calfs +quads + shoulders + chest measure ! i know people hate measuring BUT DUDE ! im sure every one else wants in on this to ! so do every one a favour up in here and give us an update of your measure ments !

Some ppl have said they see a 100-200 cal increase when they wear it on their calf. Mine was roughly the same for both calf & arm....maybe a tiny bit higher on the calf.
Whatever you do, switch it around every now & then...even like an inch or two higher or lower than where you had it before. I was wearing mine in the same exact spot for a while. I took it off a week and a half ago (just to give myself a mental break from it) and I STILL have the indent on my arm!

I usually have general ideas of what foods contain what macros, so its a matter of popping them in and making small adjustments etc. I "cycle" through meal ideas so setting up a foodlog takes about 5-8 minutes.
About the measurements, I kind of refuse to measure tbh.

It's fun to play around with and see how much you burn during your workouts and other activities, but it can get obsessive so make sure to not base your daily schedule around it trying to burn extra cals. Just do what you normally do and use it to make slight adjustments and get ideas of your TDEE.

EPOC is what you burn AFTER. Strong myth surrounding HIIT. In that you'll be burning calories 'long after you're done' ... no, hyped up load of crap. Doesn't happen with lifting either.
Workout days are almost always higher than a non-workout day in terms of OVERALL expenditure..barring in mind you're off days don't have cardio in place of working out or are a completely different day in terms of your movement throughout the day.
If I ate the same cals everyday to hit the +300-500 surplus I want to get on my workout day I'd be gaining FAST. Say I burn 3300 and I'll eat 3800 on a workout day to be in a surplus.
3800 on an off day will leave me with ~an 800kcal surplus on the off day.
Thus, FOR ME - weekly surplus turns to ~4400kcal. NOT something I want. :cool:
Less cals on off days...maintenance in my case allows me to keep the surplus @ +300-500 on workout days and gain at a good pace.
**It can be linear however, you could eat the same thing everyday calorie wise, the surplus would just be smaller.

What factors do increase RMR?
You saying most of the NEAT and HIIT dont, correct?
Lifting? Or just increased muscle mass?
I have also heard of increasing NEAT to increase metabolism, while others say too much incidental movement increases cortisol.

I train with very high volume and am pretty much sedentary otherwise but even so my calorie needs are VERY high for my size.

guess tahts why the days I spend walking around tallahassee with my 20 lb weighted vest for an hour my fitbit jumps up over to over 3500 for my TDEE :)

like always, it depends. but i can tell you that 20+ sets for each bodypart is not OPTIMAL for the natural lifter.

Well I brought my CHO down to 450 to clean up a spill that I had, so I played with the 220/450/70 field before and it was too low

Not something you can figure out over a week but from a month to month basis would be an interesting comparison. I so want one of these for my birthday (in sept, ffffuuuuu)

damn you guys are quick... I work during the days so it's tough for me to get on here.. I just started doing personal training and have become bombarded with requests.. I *will* post more pics.. a lot of the pics you guys are posting are 2-3 yrs old. I'm confident enough to say that I look much better in person and have been told that by many ppl. The physique that I have now has made a world of difference for me and I look like a different person (liek in zyzz's case).. I am constantly approached in the gym like today, by a gnc rep.. to do advertisements for fitness modeling. it's something i'm going to head towards. I dropped out of school to pursue this life and there is no chance I can fail at it. to anyone saying this is just a "good" picture of me is simply wrong. I could take much better pics, and they will be taken soon by a professional I am buddies with. as said before I think zyzz is a good looking guy but half the girls I get with would easily choose me over him because he's got a much different look than me.

It's about 5-10%. It's pretty accurate though! Gives you a good idea how many cals you expend, and when, and how much per activity. So far I like it! I will have a good review of it next week.

EPOC ain't that big, it does play a roll and is MINIMALLY noticeable in the log. It's cool seeing how much calorie I burn walking from one class to another at school :p

I really like ME Lower, however today was a bit sluggish. I think it was due to me only getting 5 hours of sleep, plus having a test at school, so it was brutal. I really want to get my deads up because I was a deadlift junkie in the offseason doing 405 for 8-10, I miss that shiii. I felt good and pumped going into the workout mentally, but physically I wasn't able to perform at 100%. Deads and hacks were good, but not at my best. Other accessory movements went by nice and smooth.
Next week I will try to get 390x3 for 2 sets, and after that run a deload and switch up to Sumo deadlifts or Squats

Awesome day at school, almost got into a fight however because of a jackass that tries to "troll" me online but can't say crap to me in person and avoids eye contact. Lately however he's been pissing me off and I went up to him and simply told him that if he ever tries to fukc around like that behind a computer, I'll lay him down without hesitation. Face went red, denied most of it, tried making the situation seem as if it wasn't a big detail, etc, etc :D. I usually try to ignore issues like that and carry on, but it was just bugging me as of late so I "kindly" told him to fukc off. Other than that, I got 96% of my bio test, stoked, and got to show them gunz since it was civies day (no uniform).

My protein sources are small because of stupid trace sources from carbs, damnit lol. Usually chicken breasts are 50-90g for me lol. I might up my protein to 240, to be a bro... and to get calories, along with more CHO and slightly more carbs. Monday we shall see!
No raw chicken either lol I just weight it raw.
Reactions, well not much so far since it's a cool spring, but we've had some warm days where I went shopping in a T. The reactions were funny, a lot of diet pop, Reese Puffs and icecream was purchased.. people were like LOL wut. It's funny seeing the "healthy wannabe eaters" at the store buying bird food, lol.

Well I add only 50g for volume, makes it super thick and fluffy! No after taste, plus splenda, cinnamon and the SF/FF pudding mix gets rid of it all if there is any.

Nah about 4 minutes into microwave the oats I take them out and just pour 50g in and then whip the oatmeal in the bowl, really adds texture and volume.

As for bar slippage, most public gyms have **** for bars, the gnurling is all worn down. Ive never been a firm advocate for straps when deadlifting. If your gym allows it pack a bit of chalk with you, build up the forearm strength and in no time you'll be having the firmest hand shake in town.

RMR is largely based on how much you weigh.
Ghosting will burn more than both of us doing the same thing. Be that doing NOTHING or say if we all walk 3 mph for 1 hour, you will see his burn totally kick my burns ass.

Well considering the fact that I am leaner eating 3300 calories than when I was eating 1900, it shows that my BMR went up pretty decently, along with increased NEAT due to slightly more energy, and better calorie burning workouts. I will be increasing my cals/macros on Monday, just not too sure how I will go abouts. I am thinking of adding some more fats, we'll see. I am thinking 220/465/75 so an extra 105 cals. Not much but since my TDEE is roughly the same throughout weekdays it should workout well although it is not that big of a bump. I did start spilling with 475 but that was because I was hitting 475 on an offday and was on 475 with a workout day but no school, so a lot of NEAT and extra cals were lost there.
In terms of gains, the weight has been going up as the foods been going up. I've been riding the line of keeping bf the same if not gaining the smallest amount through some extra cals from family dinners, friend events, birthdays, drinks, etc (not noticeable in the mirror, if anything then water fluctuations) while gaining size, strength and scale weight.
So with the BB, I will monitor my TDEE until Sunday/Monday, then determine my macros. Either 220/465/75 or 220/475/70

Cum - I'd increase protein some. No way could I eat that much with so little protein :p Carb sources take too much away. I love tonnes of meat (homo?) in my sandwiches/protein sources altogether.

Thought about it but I mentioned I had one and a lot of people said it was a waste of money. The thread will get filled up with how much of an idiot I am for buying it and is it really accurate. You mention you bought one and everyone is supportive and buying one now. LOL, no pity party here, I mean even though I try not to we do take what people that have a good builds word for something. But yeah I guess there are a hand full of people that would do what someone with a solid body said. Just look at most people who read Muscle Mag's. They dont get some even with the right nutrition, training and all the sups in the world might not be able to make the gains they want vs someone else.

Yes, I will make a log about my BB WHEN (assuming it happens in a reasonably short time and I have no more medical mishaps), I can show a massive noticeable difference (not just little ones you notice yourself). Unfortunately, almost every argument for broscience turns in to look at (insert pros name here). I know many people (I am guilty of it as well) look at builds or in this case body fat loss success. I just want to be able to show a drastic difference. :) My dream is to start a thread about how I ate dog crap and have people listen. :D

i did the oats cinnamon splenda water for 2 mins then added the egg whites then put in the microwave for about 5 mins sound right ?

I subtract 50g from my egg white mix and toss it in the oats. So I have around 130g for the omelet and 50g for the oats.

Today was a rest day. Couldn't be a better day for rest, plus I had a half day at school which was win! I was sedentary as fukc this day... lol. Went to school, came home, got my meals ready ahead of time so I wouldn't forget, then went out with some friends. We got hungry so we walked to the nearest variety store since I didn't want to drive to buy some Breyers icecream, sh!t was gooood. It melted a bit but it was a cold a$$ day so it wasn't too bad.

Just wanted to jump in and comment that I also just picked up a bodybugg- received it last Friday or so. Kinda funny that you mentioned it making you crazy if you're obsessive, its actually helped me calm the f*ck down about whether I'm expending more calories than I'm taking in. I only found myself trying to push my numbers one day this week and I made myself stop (ended up around 8.3k steps for the day and still racked in around 3k calories.) I'm doing IF and I reset the trip every night when I start my fast, so I use the daily trip as my baseline for cycling calories.
Its super inconspicuous, only one of my friends even noticed it this week and I was just wearing my normal t-shirts. Gotta say I'm really enjoying it.

I run on my non-lift days (because I enjoy it, seriously :D) so that bumps me up pretty high. The 8.3k day was a lift-day, so no running, but I'm really active during the day- I can't stay sitting still except in class or doing home.
I don't quite get the 'eat dog crap' thing, aware me? I assume its because I'm not totally jacked, but.... ???

Kinda funny, looking a few pages back I noticed a few people saying they were getting one- I decided to pull the trigger a few weeks because I figured that I could waste the money and my time in worse ways and that if it turned out to be junk I could flip it on ebay and chalk the $$ loss up to an experience.
Plus, like I mentioned before, I would make myself crazy over cals in vs cals out. Even w/ a 10% margin of error, I can figure out how I'm doing without going nuts.
