Heeeeeello NFSC 2011!

Cliff Notes on srublind: Most of my progress the last 3 1/2 months can be found in the threads in my sig, so I won't go into too much detail. I joined the bb.com/ON transformation challenge and worked my A$$ off to reach my goals. I thought I'd keep the motivation train rolling and entered another challenge to reach my ultimate goal of 12%.

So, long story short is that I have about six weeks left on my cut (which I've slowed a lot of the pace of - ie. less of a deficit - since completing the initial challenge). BUT, as soon as the cut is over I'm going where I've NEVER gone before... I'm gonna' get my BULK ON. I've always just gained because I ate and drank too much and decreased my activity to almost nil. I'm way past those days and moving on into an awesome place in my life. I got serious so it's time to keep it rolling. I'd like to compete in the future...so, it's time I put on some more lean mass. I've really put a lot of research and time into every aspect of my nutrition, training and overall plan so it's not stopping here. Details and photos below.

Starting Stats 4.12.11
Weight: 139
BF% (Omron): 15.2%

Nutrition Method:
Concentrated IIFYM (ie. hitting my calculated macros and keeping to a base group of foods with high nutrition value, but allowing for treats that are kept within those numbers, not being a slave to irrelevant meal timing, etc. etc....in other words...the true meaning of IIFYM).

**Sorry for the fuzzines. Old camera FTL**

As stated, my cut continues for another six weeks, so anyone can check that out at the sig listed below for the uncompleted challenge. BUT, as soon as I finish that up, I'll be posting DAILY in this log.

Can't wait to see where I can take my physique! Great idea AA, stoked to be on this ride with one of the greats!

Lovin' life!!

Had a few minutes today to throw up some more pics in this log to better journal my progress this year - AWESOME 2011 so far!

As I said, I began this all by entering the BB.com/ON Transformation Challenge and I had great results. I trained hard, worked hard in the kitchen and hit my initial goals dead on. This was the result of that 12 weeks:

http://i1198.photobucket.com/albums/aa458/allynblind/TransformationChallengeProgression.jpg

About 7 weeks into that challenge I came across the ErgoGenix challenge and thought, 'Hey, why not!?'. I have a well deserved vacation to the Keys at the end of May so I wanted a little extra motivation to keep pushing HARD towards my physique goals. Here are the progress pics for that challenge:

So, the updated pic is from my initial NFSC pics...and here I am!! Finishing this cut then pretty stoked to get my bulk on. I am absolutely loving this process and the sport as a whole. I definitely have my eye on competing...just have to figure out what to focus on and when to target a contest date!

Thanks for the great feedback guys, MUCH appreciated! I can't wait to get going on this bulk, and any/all input will be more than welcomed. This is slightly unknown territory for me and I want to do it right, which will mean a bit on the slow side. Gonna keep this thing ROCKIN' though, thank you for checking it out!!

Ok, NFSC Classic - my cut is rounding out and it's time to focus on this BULK! This will be my first true bulk experience, so any feedback is MORE than welcome. I plan to log each day; my calories burned (as per my BodyMedia), calories in and also the eatz. IIFYM FTW! It certainly helped me to win with this cut...I'm feeling pretty good about where I am. But, there's only one way to keep moving and that's forward.

I have a MUCH deserved road trip vacation May 26-June 6, so I'll be in and out until then. But, upon my return IT'S ON. You can definitely count on me to be consistent in here; I've been following a lot of the participants from afar since day one.

Just to round things out - a few updated pictures from my cut.

...and some core action
http://i1198.photobucket.com/albums/aa458/allynblind/EGFinalCoreExtraShot.jpg

Stat Updates:
Current Weight - 128.5 (my lowest EVER, and definitely the lowest I'd want to be, perfect time for bulk action)
Current BF% - 10% (as per Omeron, the tool I had accessible most often throughout my process. Yes, there are better tools. But, for progression sake, I'll take it.)

I'll take any feedback on where anyone thinks I am - I'd guess around 12%.

Can't wait to get things POPPIN' in here. I really enjoy logging my days, so I'll be including a lot of info in here. Again, keep the feedback coming, I'll take anything and everything in to improve.

I really want to compete, so that is my goal. After putting some muscle on, I'm thinking spring/summer next year for a contest. Thoughts appreciated!

WELL. Here we are, one day away from the halfway pictures and I'm finally getting into this thread to post my daily updates. My updates from the last 6 months can be found in the links in my sig - transformation style. Now it's time for a sloooow bulk, so we'll see what happens! A few clifs to get this thing going:

- TRANSFORMED my fatty self to an srublind that I'm pretty happy with and set me up great for this bulk
- Began bulk phase 5/23
- Vacationed in Georgia/Florida/South Carolina (mostly in Key West) for 10 days and puffed up to a weird looking version of fit srublind (and gained at LEAST 10 pounds of water weight - WOAH)
- Returned a week ago and have been continuing to eat below maintenance to get myself back to normal...which I am close. THANK GOODNESS
- Now, slowly bringing calories up to maintenance, where I will then take it to slow bulk land

- Extra note... I am moving from Columbus, OH to Washington DC for a new personal training position. What does this mean? Another challenging kink in my usually calculated nutrition and training. Ah well...

So, anyway... I'll log here daily until my move (and a week vacation to Ireland), but then I'll be back on it with my posts. I started enjoying my daily wrap up here on bb.com, so can't wait to get back to that part of my day.

Sunday Run Down

Nutrition:
Calories - 1,875

Lunch
http://i1198.photobucket.com/albums/aa458/allynblind/612lunch.jpg

Afternoon snack before the game - GY wrap
http://i1198.photobucket.com/albums/aa458/allynblind/612snack.jpg

Training:
Off day, but I walked to and from the Crew game (~5.6 miles total)

BodyMedia Data:
Calories burned - 2,660
Steps - 21,405
Sleep duration - 7:38

Calorie Balance = -785

**I'll be posting my nutrition and BodyMedia stats in more detail as I go on. Just getting a feel for how I want to lay things out. I have had the BM for about five weeks now with the small break during vacation. I'm excited to use this thing to keep bringing up my calories slowly and see where I can take it.

Looks like tomorrow I'll get my format down in here, post those halfway pics and some stats and get this thing GOIN!

Mid Point Pics!

I do have to say that I'm been second guessing my bulk plan. I really got my physique where I was feeling awesome for the summer; abs popping (for the first time ever), things looking cut and feeling amazing. After a FULK on vacation, I put on some weight and lost that definition I worked so hard for. I really am contemplating keeping calories around/just below maintenance for the summer. It just makes me feel TOP NOTCH. So... here are my pics and updated stats. From the beginning of this contest, I really have changed very little.

BUT, in the last month (and after a week of emptying those glycogen stores for end of transformation pics) I've gone down to 128.5...up a bit after pics to 133 then sit around 138 after a 10 day vacation. A little bit of a bumpy ride, and it's about the long haul. So, we shall see where I go from here.

Mid Point Back
http://i1198.photobucket.com/albums/aa458/allynblind/NFSCmidpointback.jpg

Mid Point Stats:
Weight: 138
BF: 14.3% as per Omeron

Started At:
Weight: 139
BF: 15.2%

Birthday this weekend, friends in town, moving to DC the weekend after, Ireland for a week after that... I really don't want this to turn into a complete FULK and it's TBD where I'll be training for a 2-3 week period end of June-beginning of July. Crazy!!

BUT, the focus I gained from my transformations holds true, just depends where I want that focus to go. I'm liking this lean thing a bit too much to get a serious bulk on. I may wait until early fall. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. In any event, training/nutrition currently ON POINT!

You are nowhere near 14% body fat:) Omron is very innacurate.
But pretty lean and looking good.
You could totally do a clean bulk if you feel like it.
Nice V-taper and lean legs BTW :)

Hey, I'm actually subbed to your log. ;) Lots of great stuff in there, you're rocking out your cut and I'm loving the discussion.

Oh, I agree completely on the Omeron reading; I've been using it as a quick tool for general progression. Thanks so much for the feedback, I'm leaning towards a slow/clean bulk. I'm trying to find my groove with the BodyMedia and my caloric sweet spot. I think the vacation put a small psychological crimp on my swag haha. I think I'm also nervous about my move and traveling, a little unsure of that consistent routine that worked so well for me. But, hey...just another challenge.

Thanks again for the look, you're one of the best around the nutrition forum!

Thank you:). I appreciate your support.
You'll be fine, I have a feeling you know what to do ;).
You could do some damage, you already have a good physique.

Of course! I think to myself the sh** you say to the idiots around here haha. Well, you say it much more effectively, I tend to lurk and seek out opportunities to learn. Anyway, thank you SO much. Feeling a bit more motivated tonight with your sweet feedback. Just have to stay consistent and keep rockin' it out! Hoping the future holds great things, just gotta make those things happen.

I look forward to keeping up with your progress, any feedback in here is much appreciated!

Just checking in! If anyone's out there keeping track, MAN I've been insanely busy! I am, however, not wavering from my plan! All is well in plan de srublind! I am REALLY looking forward to a great birthday/celebratory weekend with friends...relaxing/worry free/etc. One more week here in Cbus, Ohio!

I've been continuing to wear my BodyMedia with good results. I'm slowly bringing calories back up after vacation and finally feeling completely back to normal. Things are going GREAT!

I can say though, that I will probably continue to lack consistent posting here until mid July. Life will be CRAZY HECTIC! But, no worries...I'll keep my focus. LOVING LIFE AND LIVING IT TO THE FULLEST!!
