1)Luongo
2)Sharp
3)Backes
4)HSedin
5)Burrows
6)Marleau
7)Byfuglien
8)Spezza
9) Datsyuk
Need some opinions here. Can keep 8 of these guys. Right now I am torn between dumping either Spezza or Datsyuk. Scoring is pretty standard G/A/PIM/GWG/ PWP Pts.
Please need advice on who NOT to keep.
Thanks.

Drop Spezza, he's washed up. Datsyuk is still top of his game and would make great trade bait.

Thanks, that is what I was thinking, but he lit it up the last month...I was thinking he played hurt up until a month ago. Of those 9 players you think Spezza is the one to drop? I've won my league 4 of last 5 years, trying to keep the dynasty going.

I agree with this, although I don't think Spezza is washed up yet. He's only 27. He just gets hurt every year. OP is lucky he has so many great keepers that he has to drop Spezza.
I think you could also make a case for Sharp. Only 1 season over 70 points (this year...his career year) and not that many PIM.

Good point thanks, I didnt even have Sharp on my radar to drop. Right now I'm leaning towards Spezza. I was wondering if Datysuk's best days were behind him too, he was hurt this year a couple times and PIM is definately not his thing as he'll probably win another Lady Byng. He's also older than Spezza so he should be declining.

This was the only year Datsyuk has ever gotten hurt in his career. He's still a magician on the ice and a sure-fire keeper IMO.

This, Datsyuk is 32 years old and still has 2-3 more 80+ seasons if he stays healthy. Though Spezza was lighting it up, who does he have to play alongside? No one. Alfreddson's reaching 40 years old and injuries are nagging at him. It's not like Sharp pulled off a one-hit-wonder type year either. He's gotten 60 points twice before and I think that's his floor. I wouldn't be surprised to see him hit 80 next year. Lots of PPP from him too.
IMO the Top 3 guys you should consider dropping (if you somehow thought like this) would be:
1. Spezza
2. Backes (gets mad hits/PIM but those are easily attainable off the WW))
3. Burrows (Playing with the Sedins inflates his value, and he's a T2 LW at best)

Backes went under my radar for most of the year as a keeper player. I like having a guy who can bang in some goals and rack up decent PIMS. Hate to waste fwd's who get PIM's but cant light it up too. I thought of Burrows too, but playing with the Sedins I like him. If he ever got traded or demoted to playing with different forwards he'd be a couple steps off of WW. I think Spezza is the way to go. I appreciate the help and repped. Good points on all guys, glad I'm thinking clearly on these guys.
Thanks

burrows for sure. guy had like 40 points, and yes plays with talent, but dropping spezza or someone as amazing as datsuk is retarded. Spezza always finishes strong and ottawa is going to build around him. burrows is the 4th or 5th best option on his team, spezza and datsuk are top 2 on their respective teams, if not 1st.

Thanks too late though, i already dropped Spezza and feel ok about it. I maybe able to scoop him up early in the draft next year anyway if I want him that bad.
