Fairly new to the boards, figured I would jump in on this.

My Story:
Have lost over 100 pounds in the past few years, but came to the realization I did it very poorly nutrition wise. Just now getting my macro's figured out, and feel I am on the right road nutritionally.

After losing all the weight, I also lost much of my LBM, so its time to start packing it back on. After hours and hours of reading here its time to start putting what I learned to work. In for bulk. Pictures tomorrow.

My pictures are up on my bodyspace as progress pics. I am unable to post pictures yet in threads so I hope that will work for now.

I still have a bit of body fat to lose, but I dont want to dip below the weight I am at right now. So a bulk is what I am going to do. Hopefully the core will lean out a bit in the process. There is still 24 hours left until the contest starts, so I sure would appreciate some input if my goal of bulking would be better then cutting from the pics. I think I could def use some more mass in my shoulders, back and legs. Im fairly happy with my arms and chest at this point. Thoughts?

You should cut so I don't have to compete against you... ;)

Honestly though, I think either way you go you will see some great progress as you have the experience and knowledge to accomplish it. I believe you could do a nice, slow cut and look great, then bulk starting the end of the competition. Good luck man

Well first few days of the bulk are down, once I get a routine down pat Ill be posting more. This is the first time in almost 3 years that I will be eating a true surplus, and so far my energy in and out of the gym has been through the roof. I didnt quite realize what I had been missing. Feelsgoodman.

I am really going to need to work on my legs and back. I had a lower back injury a few years ago, and ever since then I have always took it easy on the lower back work. That has def come back to bite me in the butt, as my strength and stamina there is far behind other areas of my body. I am going to have to concentrate on getting it back in shape before hitting legs and whatnot hard, so hope it comes back around in a decent amount of time. First few weeks here I will be focusing on form for my sqauts and deads, rather then weight.

As always any advice is always welcome.... lets see where this takes me.

Would bulk IMO, only commenting since it sounds like you were asking for opinions.

Really solid physique so far IMO.

I will def be bulking. I have noticed that I can get a little "over critical" on my body image as I perceive it, rather then what others see it as. I am still working on getting my mindset off of weightloss. Mirrors mess with your mind lol.

I am starting with only a 300 calorie surplus, and will re-evaluate it in 3 weeks. If the weight and body fat stay continue to correlate within a reasonable ratio I will bump it up.

Had an awesome chest workout today. Im pretty excited to see some striation showing up, along with some good veins popping out.

Ive been pushing pretty hard on my flat bench, but may back off a bit so I am able to hit upper chest a little harder. I got 300 for two solid reps, then squeezed out one more with just a tap on the bar from the spotter at my sticking point. I have been doing incline dumbells for upper chest with 100's, but I want that to bump up to 110's before the end of the month with legit reps. I think if I dont go so hard on the flat bench, I will have some more energy for the inclines. Did some flys, and then ended with some declines at 225. Could only get 5 reps out (per set as I was pretty gassed at this point. Progress pics below.

Edit: wont let up upload the pictures because they are too large? Pictures in my progress section of bodyspace.

After checking out all the other logs, I think I am going to need to be a little more meticulous with my lifting. All the years I have been lifting, I never really went into the gym with a solid game plan. I knew what muscle group(s) I wanted to work that day and just went with the flow. Starting this week I am going to start keeping close track of every lift and hopefully that will help me to make the most of these next few months.

I am going to have to withdraw from the contest. I was invloved in an accident a few days ago and have several cracked ribs and a shoulder injury. Feelsbadman. Doctor pretty much said no heavy lifting for the next 6 weeks, so that nix's my bulk. Good luck to the rest of you.
