So the Commodore thread got me playing around with the ipod tonight and I dowloaded PacMan. Playing PacMan gave me flashbacks of being in the pizza place near high school playing PacMan between slices and orange soda. But it also got me thinking about which video games I liked to play, but I can't remember some of their names. So what were yours?
I do remember Defender, Astroids and Space Invaders.

Space Invaders. I loved watching the planet blow up. In fact, I often killed my "men" in order to watch the planet blow up and then warp out of there after killing off the little jiggling aliens that came my way.
Donkey Kong and Pac Man were a close second. Where's BH with his quarters when I need them?:D
Add-on: Mistake; I meant Defender instead of Space Invaders. That's what a night of typing will do to your brain...

Some of my favorite arcade specific games that bring back memories of when arcades were popular hangouts, or hanging out in pizza place, in not much of an order:
Tempest
Berzerk
Battlezone
Ice Castles
Missile Command
Pac-man
Dig Dug
Donkey Kong
Galaga
Ye Ar Kung Fu
Track and field
Chase HQ (steering wheel and gun)
Gauntlet

Ivan Stewart Super Offroad
Some Top Gun style game they had at Disneyland Starcade that you could sit in and the whole thing moved.
Outrun
There was another space game that was like an updated asteroids, with more weapons and stuff, really cool but forgot name...

Zaxxon
Tempest
I remember the local IGA had Tempest .... and, I didn't have any money to play the game, so I got a bunch of lead sinkers out of my dad's tackle box, spent a good hour and a half pounding half a dozen of them into the exact shape and size of a quarter so that I could go play Tempest. It actually worked...lol.

I have very distinct memories of my mom dropping me off at the arcade. I even remember the layout of a corner of the arcade where my favorite games where, in order (srs).
I remember SMB in the arcade, and a kid getting to level 1-2 and me being impressed with the "underground world".
Pac man was my favorite, followed by space invaders.
I loved playing Q*bert, but I sucked at it.
OMG Q*bert, that damn purple snake!
EDIT: Also, I absolutely DETESTED those machines with the rollerball. It always would jam my hand.

I also liked the Time Crisis series. I still occasionally pull out the old Playstation from time to time and hook it up to the CRT tv I still save for that purpose. I have 1,2, and 3, and a few other arcade shooter ports. Cheyenne was still my favorite arcade shooter, though.
Light gun shooters FTW!
