My previous post didn't work out quite how I thought it would so I now have this post.

I will be buying a power rack tomorrow. I am 99% sure it will either be the Powertec Power Rack or the TDS (NYBB) C-8515.

To compare the two you get.

....................Powertec.........C-8515
width..................50"................59"
depth................50.4"...............58"
height...............83.5"...............83"
comes with.......Dip bar..........Plate holder
pullup bar..........YES.................YES
safetys........."quick lock"........steel bars
rating.............1000 lbs............1000 lbs
price(shipped).....$549..............$608

Other then the dip vs. plate holder and $60 price difference is there any reason why I should get the Powertec over the 8515? Workmanship, materials, etc.?

I already have a dip station and to me the $60 is worth the increased in size.

FYI I will not be getting the lat tower option for either so that is also not a factor.

Check gauge and options for adding doo dads to these racks and you will decide for sure.

The powertec is a little nicer looking and so is the workmanship but with the 8515 the gauge is thicker(11) powertec(12) and tons of options to add
to the 8515.

Plus look at the spacings for each..8515 has way more holes and are closer together.

Did I miss something? When did the price on the Powertec go up a hundred dollars? I just looked a couple of days ago and it was still around $450.

Price jump and problems with getting them? I'm not a hater of powertec, but I see little reason to buy one over the Bodysolid, Bodycraft, or now (because I always forget them) the TDS rack.

Powertec brings nothing special to the table except dip bar imo. They have always won on price, but Bodycraft and Bodysolid have creeped downward in the same time frame the Powertec has gone up $200.

Its your money, I just don't see the point.

I had to take down my TDS rack due to space issues so I bought a freespotter..it works for me.

If I had the space I would have kept my rack and intend to hook up a rack up again if/when I ever buy a house.

I have some items you might be interested in if you decide to get the 8515...PM me.

Yea, I saw that too, not sure if they're reputable or not. Not saying they're not, just don't know.

I assume that's temporary anyway....apparently the price is going up. Unless BC & BS do too......this is bad news for powertec fans, imo.
