The past few weeks I've been going extremely hard, keeping the intensity up and what not whilst losing weight.

Dont get me wrong I have great workouts every single day, but I noticed the past few days although I was still lifting the same amount of weight the intensity just wasnt there.

Would I benefit from dropping the weight on most of my main exercises just for a week, maybe give the CNS a break?

are you dieting for a show (been a long day, clue me in)? because if you are it's natural for people to experience a drop in strength... while this doesn't mean intensity per-se, you will also be tired. if i were dieting and experiencing something like this i would continue to push, just to maximize muscle spared from the deficit

if i weren't dieting and experienced a lack of energy, or intensity, i would either re-evaluate my diet, motivation, and then consider a deload.

Not at all deloads are necessary for most. I'd would just cut your volume in half, but keep the weights near where you've been using them for a week ..maybe a little bit less just so you're not hitting failure. Then hammer away for 4-8 weeks and repeat.

I have been dieting for a show, but I've been in a deficit for almost 10 weeks now. I'm able to lift the same amount of weight even though I've dropped a load of fat. My motivation is as high as ever and my diet is onpoint. I think my CNS is fried because I lift as heavy as possible 5 -6 days a week. and I've been doing 5 cardio sessions a week.

Thanks man, thats what I was thinking about doing.
Dropping the weight say 10 lbs on isolation exercises and just making sure I really squeeze and stretch every rep.

i think WhiteFiberz hit the nail on the head... maybe try backing off to a rep or two shy of failure, see if that helps

Sounds about right, I know my limits and I'll make sure to stop a few reps before total failure.

Or you can do fewer sets and rest longer between sets. Either way, try to reduce total volume of your workouts a little.

Any other opinions? I feel the need to deload, but I'm midday into a cut, and fear that a decrease in intensity may cause muscle loss.

If you feel the need to deload, then deload. You'll only be downloading for a week, and won't lose any significant muscle loss in just a week...unless your deficit is just retardedly low...

I am deloading every four weeks in contest prep and holding onto mass better than I ever have.

interesting, even though u are also not the avg joe with avg bodyfats atm ;)

OP - how far are u out from ur competition? Volume is suppose to be lowered as the dieting goes on (at least from what I've read)
now obv there are many ways to lower total volume but I would mainly just focus on reducing the sets. And still hit a couple heavy sets

i.e. if you're doing a 5x5 plan, maybe change everything to 3x5 for a week r so and see how u feel. Ultimately it might just be the grind of the prep

Actually, I'm coming to realize that I think I've been beating on myself too hard in past contest preps. I have never been as lean as I am right now at this bodyweight. And my workout volume has been chopped by at least 30 percent.....and deloading every 4th week.

When I deload, i lower volume and intensity. For instance on my power movements ill hit the same no of sets but i drop the weight to 65 perc of my 1rm which should be at least a 10 rep set.....but ill hit it for 5. For my hyper work I just knock volume down by 1 set per bodypaet and stay 1 rep below failure.
