I heard a rumor that tuna has too much sodium, so it should not be eaten after 4 weeks prior to your show?

I've read conflicting articles on the amount of sodium and whether tuna is a "clean" protein source, but none of them mentioned NOT eating it up to a show.

My first show is April 2, so I really don't want to screw anything up haha Any advice is appreciated!

Ridiculous. Eat the tuna if you really enjoy it. Sodium is not an issue if your intake is constant and steady. It's just voodoo.

If you didnt take in any sodium for 4 weeks prior to your show, you would drop dead. Whoever told you that is a bonafied graduate of "Brohversity of Junk Science".

Oh Lawd, so many inaccurate statements made while in contest prep mode. If everything is working keep doing what your doing.

I'm amazed at how many old school coaches there still are out there. I see it all the time only much much more in person then I read about online. I swear they've all watched too many pumping iron videos of Arnie and Lou.

OP, listen to the more experienced people in this forum. Usually they're openminded, objective and right on the money. Please remember this when you hear stories about sodium and tuna ... if something sounds fishy it probably is, so do your research.

Last prep I tried getting rid of all land animals from my diet. Tuna, whey and eggwhites was my mainstay ... result was a pro fitness model win and the avatar photo.

For the record that diet sucked and I prefer keeping in chicken and lean meat. I looked better with those in my diet as well, but I like to experiment on myself.
