I know that Sat fat and trans fat are bad, but sat fat is in almost everything, so how much can we have per day and not feel bad about it?

Saturated fats are not innately bad, they are actually necessary for brain function/growth, hormonal balance, maintaining organ tissues and cellular integrity. This is why babies and toddlers should be given whole milk.
As a general rule of thumb, saturated fats should make up about 7% of your daily calories. And trans-fats should be avoided.

I think I've always read that saturated fats should be no more than 10-percent of your daily fat intake. I don't think I've ever seen a minimum.

The RDA is 20 grams or less but no minimum, which is kinda weird . Though most of the USDA food pyramid doesn't make much sense lol. Like the second poster stated it is very beneficial to hormone, cell integrity and calcium absorption so don't cut it out just be careful of transfat.

Over in the keto forum, you'll meet people who eat huge amounts of sat fats, and their blood works is perfect.
Two interesting studies found that among older women, the ones who ate the most sat fat had the strongest bones and the longest life expectancy. The women who ate low fat or only poly fats were much more likely to break a hip or die.
For years, sat fats were blamed for the problems caused by transfats. When they finally separated them out, they found that sat fats do not cause health problems.
