AS of today I'm just about a month away from D-day, and the toll it's taking on me psychologically is become too much to bear at times. I feel like I'm obsessing myself with doubts about diet, doubts about training, and confusion of what to do as competition day comes closer. So I've been dieting for 8 weeks now, and very strictly at that. I started out around 205 lbs, and now weigh 182. This is my first competition, and I hear so many different takes on the last 4-5 weeks (changes in diet/cardio/training). If someone could provide me some assurance on this matter I will be very,VERY grateful for that. Man it's driving me crazy! All I want is that edge...I'll post some 5 weeks out pics along with this (as I am beginning to also feel the dreaded feelings of not being ready...:()
CURRENT MACROS/CARDIO: 150g carb (125g on off day--sunday), 310g protein, 45g fat
*have been losing weight 2-3lbs on average, with no specific weight to make, it's an open teen 16-19 yrs old class, I just want to be the most conditioned I can be...
CARDIO: has been steady at 4 times a week (three 45min sessions, one 1hr session), and I was thinking of adding an additional 40min as competition day is coming closer. (..?)

Wow, I wish I looked as great as you do when I was 17. I was a 151lb skinny dork. :(
I don't want to get into specific recommendations for your last month, for fear it might do more harm than good as I don't know your body. But just hang in there man, I haven't competed since 03, but I know all too well how much of a mind fuk competing is. You're worried about showing up out of shape in front of all of those people. But you know what? After my show (even though I didn't look my best) I got all kinds of positive comments from people that came to see me. Regular people that admired the hard work it took to get up on stage.
Just keep doing what you're doing, and please don't do anything drastic the last week, don't mess with water and sodium. You should have a good idea at this point what amount of sodium you can consume and water which allows you to have that full yet dry look. Just stick with that and work on your posing. The rest will fall into place.

this... one thing i would recommend would be to really start working on posing... getting a head start now will give you a leg up on those who think it's unimportant

try dieting for 6 months
Dont worry to much. I would say you are right on point being roughly 5 weeks out.
I am also 5 weeks out from my show, April 9th. Dont change anything your doing. Your conditioning is comming in. You will get harder and harder if you stick to the way you have been eating and the current cardio regimene you are doing now.
The only changes I am making for these last 5 weeks is to buy nothing but organic or fresh foods. Nothing frozen, i.e.: Fish, Chicken, Broccoli, etc. Its a little more expensive, but it is worth it. You need 100% natrual food to get in the lowest BodyFat%.
Other than that, I will just be limiting the amount of zero cal sauces I use, i.e.: Walden farms Zero cal BBQ Sauce, Zero Cal Butter Spray, Walden farms Sugar Free Salad Dressings, etc. and no more diet sodas.
Also, ignore the pictures on my bodyspace profile.... Those are about 3 years old lol
Maybe ill update one of these days.
Anyways, Stay focused and be confident.

You are doing fine! Relax!
Your first show should be a learning experience; Learn your body, find areas you need to bring up in the next off-season (pictures in good lighting), posing in front of friends and strangers, build relationships with other competitors and people in the industry that can help you in the future, maybe take home a trophy, learn how to put together a posing routine and more and more and more...
If you don't enjoy the journey, you may not want to do it again!
Just enjoy the ride, the struggle, and big or small victories!!!

Can you support this with anything? Not that i flat out disagree im just curious because I frankly don't see how. Cals in vs cals out.

Hey thanks, I'm a lot better now than I was a week ago, just got psyched out a little, probably from the fatigue, dieting, and the realization of how close the competition was. I'm excited, and am striving to do the best I can, and learn from this experience. It's been a long journey thus far, and it's still not over. 4 weeks!

Im a bit out of my element here, but perhaps he is leaning toward fresh foods and away from processed/frozen stuff in the final weeks to avoid excess sodium?

What's wrong with sodium pre contest if you've always had a consistent intake?
lol.
