Anyhow, I heard more than 2,500iu from a multi of vitamin A from retinol can cause a decrease in bone mass and hair loss.
(the real number is 5,000iu, but you have to assume you get some retinol from food.)
Anyways, I like how AST Multi Pro 32x looks, but you take it twice a day meaning 20,000IU of vitamin A. Granted some of that is Beta Carotene which your body converts to Vit A only if you need it, and therefore is harmless.
It reads
"Vitamin A(as Beta Carotene) &(as Acetate, Incl) 10,000IU 200%" - AST Multi Pro 32X
What should I take from this? Too much A?

I'm going to say yes that is too much Vitamin A. Do you know how approximately how much you're getting from real foods?
Vitamin A overdose is no joke.

If your vit d levels are good, it is really hard to take too much vit A. (see this article (http://www.westonaprice.org/abcs-of-nutrition/172-vitamin-a-on-trial.html).)
Though you're right, carotenes aren't toxic at a high level. Still, vit d is awesome and cheap, so take it anyway.

Try to get a full spectrum of vitamers... the a/b/g caroteness and b-cryptoxanthin. Other carotenoids are important as well, such as lutein, zeaxanthin and lycopene. Eggs, spinach, kale, sweet potates, spirulina, red chili, carrots, etc.

I have the same multi. I only take it once a day at most. Twice a day seems totally unnecessary for me.

Nope that is perfect. The RDA is 5,000 I believe but 10,000 is the limit before it can cause minimal harm so your fine and beta carotene is always same so... good. Remember accutane has like 100's of 1000's of UI so you'll be fine.

About 10 years ago, I was taking 100, 000 IU worth of a complex from Vitamin A to treat acne and it does cause hair to fall out at that amount. I think if you stay under 10,000 IU (what I am taking now), you should be safe.

Large amounts of vitamins are being prescribed through "nutritional therapy". The amount is definitely controlled though. Overdose is possible (and dangerous) but highly unrealistic.
