Thanks for following along. I will be logging my training from now until mid-may when I will be participating in a 1/2 marathon.

Typically, I lift 2 days/week and lift 2 days/week. Will be bumping up the running from now until the 1/2 marathon.

Background:
32 years of age
165lbs
5'10"

Always been a gifted runner and starting to get back into it. I want to do this while not losing a ton of strength.

Bench: 230 or so
Squat: 270 or so
Deadlift: 330

yesterday 2/13/11:

Bench press: 155 x 5, 180 x 5, 205 x 5, 215 x 1, 225 x 1
Military Press: 5 x 10
Lat raises: 5 x 10
BB rows: worked up to 185 x 1 about 5 sets
Face pulls and then Triceps band push downs.

A little too much.

today 2/14/11:

Ran 10 repeats of a 200m-300m hill near my house. About 1/2 mile to get over there. Took approx 35 minutes. Legs and lungs felt great.

typical diet:

meal 1
4 eggs
toast, bagel or oats
fruit
coffee

meal 2
Lean meat
some sort of carb
veggie
dessert (cookies candy etc)

meal 3
2 scoops of ON whey
1/2 of oats

meal 4
same as meal 2

meal 5 (sometimes)
snack
cereal, ice cream etc. if I am hungry

Supps:

Using ON whey protein
Universal liver tabs
melatonin (love this stuff)

LG T-911 1-2 tabs per day (just using up an old bottle)

Yesterday

Power Cleans / Squat Cleans: 5 sets worked up to 155 x 3
Squats: 190 x 5, 220 x 5, 250 x 3, 250 x 1, 185 x 5
Band GMS: 5 sets of 10-12
2 sets of Barbell Curls

Today:

3 miles easy on the treadmill. about 30 minutes. Cutting out the T-911. it's making me a bit anxiouse at work.

6 miles easy. 8-9 minute mile pace.

Overhead Press 85 x 5, 95 x 5, 110 x 8, 115 x 1, 115 x 1
Dips: 5 sets, worked up to 15lbs weighted x 8 reps
Pullups/chins: 5 sets
BB skull crushers: 2 sets

10 200-300m hills
1/2 mile cool down

Cleans: 5 sets. Topped out at 135 x 5 then 175 x 1.
Deadlift: 225 x 5, 260 x 5, 295 x 5
Abs: 5 sets
2 sets of curls
