Hi I am new to this site. I am overweight and trying to lose 50 lbs. I have a good grip on the fitness aspect- I run 3x a week 5 km each time (I actually teach a class) and do a bootcamp 4 days a week - cardio and mixture of weights.
Nutrition has been my issue and I seem to have found something that is working right now - Clean Eating Cooler Plan 1: Breakfast - 1c oatmeal + 4 egg whites; Snack - .5 apple / pear + 3 oz protein; Lunch - .5 c yam/br rice + 3 oz protein + 2 c green veg; PM snack - Whey Gourmet shake with water + .5 c veg; Dinner - same as lunch...so far I have cheated only once (ate a piece of toast) but seem to be doing ok so far - am on day 12....(Might kill someone if they walk by with bread though)...
My question is about supplements - what is a combination/or something I can take. I want something that WORKS, wont kill me dead in a week and burns fat at a high rate of speed. A few years ago I took thermo maxx and it was awesome - but a few months ago, I bought another bottle and it is not the same at all. Did nothing...
Any ideas?

Since when is a piece of toast cheating? Eating clean doesn't mean anything. You need to figure out the right amount of calories needed based on your individual stats and goals. You need healthy fats in your meal plan, they are crucial for fat loss.
Fat loss will always go back to your diet, there is no magic pill.

Thanks for the info - I read the link.
Depending on how I figure out my caloric needs (either based on fat percent or BMI) it works out in the range of anywhere from 1259 - 1777 calories for weight loss per day.
I had been on a 1540 calorie diet & found it was not working. It was 50 carbs - 30 fat - 20 protein...I paid 200$ for the plan and was less than amazed at the weight loss. I was on it for a month and did not cheat once. I found I was having a hard time eating all of the food and underate several times.
When I started the Cooler plan 1 - I knew it was LCD and would be hard...on average it is giving me 867 calories / day and a breakdown of 118 carbs / 9 fat / 82 protein per day based on the foods I listed above. So far it is working because I have lost 7 lbs in 12 days. Due to restricted calorie or breakdown in foods? I don't really know - I do know this is the most success I have had in a very long time. I am anal and premeasure and weigh all of my food and prepack the night before. I like to have something set out - how much of this how much of that as I find it easier to follow than someone saying to me eat 50% of your xxxx calories are lean protein.
I am very confused with the amount of information there is - each calculates something a bit differently - every imaginable diet says do this, don't eat this - carbs, no carbs, ketosis, high protein, high fat, no fat...I really do not have a clue what I am doing or what works anymore and really at the end of the day I just want to succeed. I get that nutrition is 80% my issue and have thought the cooler plan was fixing this for me.
I am 5'2" tall. Almost 42 yrs old. I have hypo-thyroidism and take 1 mcg synthroid per day. I used to weigh 112 lbs. 3 kids, several years of inactivity and not taking pride in myself have resulted in me being where I am today - my fault and no one else to blame. My current weight is 181 and although I would love to weigh 130 lbs - it is not so much the weight loss by lb - I am more interested in losing inches. I want a toned, muscular, firm body and I will pretty much do anything to get it - short of surgery (and only because $ is an issue). I had it once, and I want it back. Badly.
I am looking for sound advice and relying on the expertise of people on this site because they at least look like they know what they are talking about - have been doing it for a long time and likely have some wisdom to impart to someone who is starting to rebuild her body back all over again.

867 calories a day?
Get ready for muscular atrophy and feeling like a walking skeleton.
9 grams of fat a day...? Dietary fat is an essential nutrient, cutting it out is absolute lunacy. Weight loss is the product of a caloric deficit, you don't need to cut out dietary fat!
A supplement to aid in weightloss?
In all honesty, there really aren't any legit. supplements. Fat burners etc. are nearly all complete bunk. You'll get your best results from a good diet.
Edit: Oh, unless of course you want to supplement with 2,4-Dinitrophenol which isn't advisable ;)!
