So my girlfriend is now starting to get in shape for the summer, she is not fat or chubby, only carrying about 10lbs of fat she wants to lose, mostly in her midsection, and she also wants to tone up. She just started Monday and so far she has just been jogging and running up and down stadiums and doing lunges. Does anyone have a program or can give me some ideas for her? She will be doing all this on track, football field, stadiums. So only bodyweight and outdoor stuff and exercises, no weight or machine access.

Thanks!

Doesn't P90x require dumbbells? Plus she's doing this stuff outdoors, not in the living room.

Nah, it does however require a chin up bar. Burning more calories than consuming does the trick. Tell her to watch what she eats, drink lots of water and keep up the cardio.

Good luck op

High intensity cardio in the form of explosive sprints on the track and even up stadium stairs for 30- sec or until failure she can di this 6-10 times with a 1 minutes rest.

I do hiit as follows with sprints
1 minute full out sprint
1 minute rest
Continued for 15-30 minutes
Do this 3x a week accompanied with a basic steady moderate cardio in between
Hope this helps

Tell her to hire a trainer. Money well invested for a newbie.

A search of the forum should have been your second.

Like another poster mentioned, diet's going to make more of an impact on the 10lbs that she wants to lose than any program.

For training, think of any bodyweight exercises and have her do sets combined with bleacher runs.

Or, even do a search on youtube. There are TONS of professional competitors that have videos of their outdoor workouts online.

This. Diet is key.
I would say to try out the book New Rules of Lifting for Women too. It was a great start for me. It has meal plans and excersize programs to help.
HIIT is awesome too. I wouldn't do it anymore than 2-3 times a week though.

how many calories do you women need a day and how much would you consume ot lose weight only through cardio (about 30 minutes few times a week).

If she's only doing 30 minutes 3x week, it better be HIIT.

Not sure if you're aware, but there is a Nutrition and Supplement section, AND a Fat Loss section here in the fem division.

I'm feeling nice, so I already copied the caloric intake thread for you:

You're welcome.
