This will be my first show, and I cant lie, Im nervous as h*ll. Even if its 4 months away. Any tips from anyone lol. Im doing the novice lightweight. My dad was a infamous bodybuilder in Tampa back in the days. So mentally, I feel I have what it takes b.c I grew up around this, but I dont think I have the size.

Its going pretty good sar far, put on a few more lbs and plan on starting my diet around aprl 25th. Cant lie, the nervous level stepped up a few levels. My father died last weekend and instead of doing this soley for myself, its now becoming a tribute to my dad. Which I am honored to do, and still going to bust my ass.

Thats powerful stuff bud! Sorry for your loss! Just from your few words, you must really respect your dad and all of his accomplishments! Keep pushing, and dont lose sight of the end!

What are your plans after this show? any more?

it really depends on how I do at the classic. I do have alot of tattoos on my arms and im almost positive thats going to put a bad taste in the judges mouth. So if I can atleat place this show, it will definitly give me some extra motivation to do another one. Thanks for the advice man, sucks hes gone but I cant wait for him to see everything he taught me. He won this show back in 90 and then won Mr Florida in 99 then placed 6th at nationals. Those guys there were pure freaks lol. After that he hurt his back from a fall, and never recovered. Not sure if I will ever get to his level in bodybuilding but I will put all of my effort into this show. The only thing im flaky with is the dieting, I know how to put on the weight and lose the weight in a good way, just not competeing diets. Is there any websites or books that you know of that could help me out?

I'll be there man. It' be my first time competing as well. I'll probably be in the Novice middleweight. It's hard, and I'm usually bad with discipline, but if you want something bad enough you will make it come to fruition. I'm actually tracking my progress starting today. I have to say it's truly inspirational what you're doing. I know the judges matter and placing would make things better, but you have only one person to impress. Yourself. And from what you've said, your father. He sounds like a badass and it's your time to be a badass. In life there's only one person holding you back, yourself. Work harder than you've ever worked before. The contest will be war and right now you're at peace. The more sweat you have in peace, the less you will bleed in war. Get motivated. I'm sure you will do great man. Follow your diet, stick to working out, sleep well, practice posing, and ignore distractions and the haters.

And this is something I tell myself when I'm working out.
"Every set, and every rep counts. Use your mind, and bust out of any wall you'll ever hit. every step counts towards what you want to look like. You're your own personal sculpture and you only have one person to hold accountable for how well the finished product will be. Yourself. Every detail counts. Do work"

And as for the ****tyness of dieting, etc. I'm there with u!! haha let's suffer for greatness together!!! in spirit!

I'll be there as well. This is my first show too. Just started dieting to cut weight. I'm not sure whether i'm going to compete at light heavy or heavy weight yet. Depends on how much I cut. Anyways good luck bro.

This is one of the best shows in Central Florida. I competed in this show the last 3 years, taking 2nd place in the Over 35 all three times. The Promoter, John Schleicher, goes all out and makes it a top notch show. I will not be competing this year, but will be attending. For all the first timers, stay motivated and you will be fine. It is a very huge show. If I can help or answer any questions, feel free to let me know. I, myself, getting ready for the Orlando Metropolitan Championships in 11 days and the Europa on April 29/30. DOing the Masters Over 40 and Open Lightheavyweight this year. Good luck to all.

I REALLY wanted to compete in this one but had to have some surgery that set me back. But I will be in the crowd cheering everyone on. It is one of my favorite shows. Good luck to you guys, especially the first timers.
