thought i'd start up a thread to inspire some muscle-building, physique-enhancing, bb'er-friendly meals, get some ideas brewing.

personally, i strive to stay lean and fit year-round. altho i utilize small bulking or cutting strategies periodically, for the most part i seek to maintain my aesthetics constantly.

with that in mind, almost every meal is planned accordingly so that i hit my general macro goals by the end of the day. i usually eat 5-6x daily, and many times that is split up by alternating solid foods with shakes thruout the day.
there is an old adage that this philosophy embraces:
three steaks + three shakes a day will get you swole! :D

anyway, with that in mind there is one meal that, in certain times of the year, becomes a staple for me..it looks like this:
(portion sizes may vary, depending on overall meal structures and caloric goals for the day)

10oz sweet potato
5oz 90% sirloin
2 cups broccoli

lil salt & pepper on the sweet potato, and i like to mix it with the beef and eat together in same bite, tastes awesome.

so..what are you guys eating today? :)

Oh wait...

actually, i had some requests from some ppl for a food pic thread, hence the creation.

but you know what, buddy? if you don't like it, then you certainly don't have to post in it.

thanks for your valued input.

ahh, a post from a fellow Hoosier. :)

and yep - dem sure be sum nice picz of food in dat der link, truly some food pornz.

let me see if i can clarify and refine my intent for this thread i have posted, since there seems to be some confusion as to my motives..

my objective is not to make you drool over a pretty pic. rather, the intent was to toss around some quick, efficient, and effective ideas for meals - conducive to our (general) goals as bb'ers.

for example, breakfast today (made in 10 minutes, and anybody can find time for meal prep for this one):

9oz 93% lean ground turkey (made on Foreman grill)
3 egg whites (made on my stove, concurrent with Foreman grilling..lil bit o' yolk crept into my whites during seperation, no biggie)
1 medium size grapefruit (sliced on my counter top, concurrent with above steps)

so, to reiterate: i am not in competition, or trying to be, with the "appearance" of my food pics here. simply posting serviceable and quick meal ideas for the common guy, and trying to spark ideas for myself from anything someone else may want to share along the way.

hopefully, my agenda going forward can be recognized for what it is..if you find anything here useful, great.

if not, no worries..you can move along to the next thread.

a two-for today, since i have the time..

in my current diet construction, meal #3 is the leanest (lowest fat) and smallest (calorically speaking) of the 6 meals i consume.

5oz 93% lean turkey
8 egg whites
2 cups broccoli

overall cals ~2500 (baseline)..caloric intake has been bumped up slightly since switch to keto, as my body performs very efficiently on this format - meaning, i can consume more cals while still cutting. the difference of course is heavy increases of fat & protein, concurrent with the (comparatively smaller) reduction in carbs..
carb-up days (MON/THUR) are still ~3000 cals.

04-11-2011, 05:10 AM
had to adjust my typical carb-up days (usually MON/THUR), so my last one was SAT and looked like this:

3/4 cup long-grain brown rice, topped with
1 TBS brown sugar, 1 TBS butter, some cinnamon, dash of skim milk
1 banana
10 sweet potato
2 cups mixed veggies

next carb meals are TUE/FRI/MON/THUR as i prepare to end the shred diet the day before Easter (SAT 4/23)..
leaning out incredibly well, got some solid supp support in play. will post pic at completion to show what i've gotten out of all this maneuvering..

04-28-2011, 09:14 AM
a different breakfast:

6oz sweet potato +
shake: 2/3 cup oat bran, 1 medium banana, 1 scoop Big Blend

~570cals, 100g carbs

kinda faded in my approach as Easter drew near, didn't get as lean as i was shooting for, but decent enough for now..
