Hi everyone
I am looking to lose 15 pounds or about 8 kilos of excess weight which I put on recently, due to hormonal changes in my body.

I have been killing myself doing tons of cardio and not lost any weight at all, go figure !!!

My questions is should I do any cardio at all for my workouts and if so how long for?
I have been walking for 1 1/2 hrs daily as part of my cardio and I have been doing 1/2 hour of weight training.

Is there any specific type of weight training I should do as I am looking to lose weight from my hips and thighs.
I need to mention I have piriformis syndrome and herniated discs in my lower back, so I cant do anything that will cause stress to my back or my piriformis.

Thank you for reading this blog.

Losing body fat goes back to your diet, not a specific training program.

Agreed with Kim. Diet is key.

Im in the same boat as you I had gotten down to my goal weight and then had Glandular fever which caused me to gain around 10Kg! But what I have on my side this time around with weight loss is the knowledge on how to loss the weight again.
As the other bloggers said its all diet, you can work out all day but if your nutrition is wrong there is no point. So start with nutrition make sure you eat around 6 meals a day (Small potion) and keep hydrated once you have a good eating pattern move onto exercise. Full body workouts are good for weight loss, circuit training is also a good way of combining cardio and resistance training. Remember to keep heart rate up. Im studying fitness at the moment so if you want any more help feel free to send me a message and i'll reply as soon as I can.

I know exactly what you mean,
I have been doing cardio for the past 4 years while in high school and college and I have pretty much maintained the same weight and figure. However, I can't break this i guess plateu.
I just realized that no matter how much cardio I do my body shape will still be the same, even if I starved myself (this is hypothetical) I would still have the same love handle to butt to stomach ratio. lol.
then this is my recommendation to you, because this is what I am going to try. Focus on weight lifting and a healthy, lean protein diet. When you build muscle you will change your overall body compostion, and muscle also helps burn fat. Thus also eating a healthy lean diet will make sure you don't get fat in the mean time. :)

Calories in vs. Calories out. Educate yourself as much as you can. Read the stickies. Knowledge is power.
If you can't seem to lose the weight your eating too much and not moving enough.
