HI im trying to lose 25-30 lbs im 5'5 at 160 right now. I have a good timeline right now because i have to weigh in for military standards in 2 months and the max i can be is 154. the problem here is staying motivated to workout and keep the weight off. i dont really know whats a good amount of weight to looks for a certain amount of time. Or what type of work outs i should be doing. Any advice would be great.

You should be able to lose at least 10 lbs in those 2 months, which will put you below that 154. I wouldn't try to lose weight too fast, because you really want to keep your strength up.
5 lbs a month translates to 1.25 lbs a week or about a 650 calorie deficit per day. Use a calorie calculator to estimate how much you are burning per day, and then eat 650 calories less than that. Lift heavy weights and do some cardio :)
