good night sweet mouse

all mice eventually wear out, especially if you play a lot of PC games, especially shooters or RTSes

the mx518 is just as good IMO... definitely a good mouse for $35... i've been using one for 2 years and have a new one as a backup when that one wears out

It is the cord that is the problem, happened to my 518. You should be able to take the mouse apart though with the 510, you can't do that with the 518.

Either the cord is faulty or loose, you should be able to tighten I'm not really sure. Its been awhile since I had my 510.

ok ill google stuff later to look more into this i guess

for now i found my lx7 but feels sh*tty without the thumb inlet thing.

looked at a local buy/sell/trade forum and found these 2nd hand models for sale. will prob buy a couple

Logitech MX Revolution(wireless)-$10
Logitech G7(wireless)-$10
MX510-$15

all say *tested and working* etc and if they are, I could save quite a chunk instead of a brand new one

my random guess is try putting it in a different usb port. also try using the usb to ps2 adapter if you have a ps2 port. or the mouse might be dying lol

For a temporary fix I would just push the cord into the mouse if it would go then put tape to hold it in place. You could also look at the end of the connector where the usb end is and look for any damage to the cord.

i checked the mouse and there seems to be no obvious wire damage/bend. bought the 2nd hand mx revolution for a thumb inlet mouse and might switch back to corded basic mouse cuz wireless mice have always been a pain in the ass. can never get sensitivity right and this one seems to like to "jump" if u know what I mean.....

i guess i found out why it was so cheap @ $10. can't even get it to scroll across the screen in a straight line....always a slight kink or two
