I was kind of shocked when receiving my lat attachemnt as well as my power rack.
First off the rack is nice, but It was scratched up in several places. Not that big of a deal. But It did bother me.
Now, The big thing that eats me up. After installing the rack. I opened the box to the attachments and the welds look horrible. There is one piece that is really bad. The bottom attachment to the rack. It looks soo bad. Its rough all around the metal. ( Have not even gotten to the welds.) Now when you look at the welds, They look like globs of poo poo. Being that this is my first power rack peice, I don't know if this is normal or not. I Tried to take a picture, But It does not do it justice. Also, The bottom Tricep bar, Is also very rough as well under the paint. Is this normal? I want to know before I assemble it. Because If its not, Im not paying 499 for this cr#$. Im not a big complainer, But when I am paying as much as the rack, I expect it to atleast be a smooth power coated finish on the material.
THESE WELDS MAY BE NORMAL FOR POWERTEC. I DON'T KNOW. TAKE A LOOK AT THIS YOUTUBE VIDEO I DID OF WHAT I AM TALKING ABOUT.

I have no experience with Powertec gear, but I have read that they have QC issues, and will replace bad stuff. The welds on your pulldown look like amateur hour to me. I'd give them a call, and show the rep the video, I'm sure they will fix it.

Mine isn't as bad as yours. No dings or dents in mine, the welds are cleaner, but not through the length, they are like caterpillers spaced apart. I would try to get a new piece if I were you.

It looks as if it's mostly cosmetic stuff, and shouldn't really alter the functionality of the piece. I wouldn't be concerned unless it interferes with load-bearing capacity. Powertec will send you individual replacement parts, though, if you photograph the piece you're objecting.

I will call them today and see what they say. I understand that its cosmetics, But Think about it like this. When you buy a brand new car, it does not come all scratched up and dented up. They get top dollar for this attachment, I expect it to look nice. That why I posted this. To see if this is not normal or if they all looked similar.
(At least for the first week of use)

When welds look that bad I start to wonder about their holding ability, I'd either get it replaced or send it back for a refund, that's crap work.
Considering what's been said about their customer srvice I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

Actually, looking at those welds, it's not just cosmetics. It doesn't looks like there have good penetration. If you're pulling down 200 lbs, and the weld on that pull down bar goes, you're going to break your nose, or possibly even your jaw. That particular one is OK I was using it as an example. But the fact that there are holes in most of the othere, tells me that the welder either didn't properly complete the weld or that he (it) let it burn through. Either way, it's an issue with strength. Seeing all that slag would really piss me off. It's one thing if you do something your self and don't feel like buzzing that off with a wizz wheel. But, if you're buying something with the powertec name I'd expect a much higher quality of product.

That's just ****ty work plain and simple. I'd be afraid to use some decent weight on that being that there is hardly any penetration in those welds. I have a feeling that a call to the company isn't going to help unfortunately. Good luck though.

If customer service does not help, you can always get your credit card company involved.

Welcome to Chinese mass production quality.
If you send the part(s) back, besides taking forever, you'll very likely get the same or worse-quality pieces in exchange. They'll be coming from the same factory; no reason to think that anything else coming from there will be any better.
If it were me, I'd take the offending part(s) to a local job shop and just pay to have them repaired.
And then live and learn.
