It seems like everyone is male and 20. Are there any ladies out there with a lot of weight to lose in their 50ies? I'm looking for success stories. When I'm exercising that little voice (you all know that little voice) tells me I'm too old to reach my goals. I've carried over 100# excess for too long to make changes. So far, I'm ignoring that pesty voice, but I'd like to find someone else, like me and I'd especially like to find older female success stories. IS THERE ANYONE OUT THERE?

There just has to be Rebecca. Try searching body space for female members over 40.
Me, not 20, not looking to loose only 10-20lbs but also not female.

Rebecca.. just do your homework. There is so much information out there!
Take your time develop a good plan , document the plan.. and stick to it.
I've found that if I write out a strick plan, weight training, or even diet related.. get a calendar.. take a pen and write out what you want to do each week.. 1 week in advance. Then take a sticker and each day you accomplish what you set out.. place a sticker on that day...
once you start filling up the calendar you'll stick to the plan in order to keep the streak going!
good luck!

Your hormones are different than a 20 year old male but there's no reason the same basic principles can't work for you. There is a womens' forum and an over-35 forum. I'd check out both. I know for a fact there are men in their 60's and 70's who post regularly and who could kick my butt in the gym any day of the week.
50 is the new 40, is the new 30, right? You are in your prime!

There are ladies who are 50+ in the aerobics classes I go to who put me to shame.
If you are part of a gym, I think that's a good place to start. There's like a 50+ club at my gym. They take the body works, steps, cardio kickboxing, spin classes and they are just in unbelievable shape.
