OK, so me and a female friend are going to the gym tomorrow. We went the other day and think she felt left out. She stood beside me with small weights doing pretty much nothing. I want her to feel more like she is there for herself too. What can we do TOGETHER, that will be good for her to " lose weight and tone up ", and also benifit me ( gain weight and bulk up ).

There is no such thing as 'tone' => this is essentially: more muscle, less fat.
If she wants to 'lose fat' she needs to diet.
And if she also wants more muscle, she needs to lift like you. ;)

Have her shadow your workout - if she likes it then she will take the time to research into starting her own training program.
If you just took her there and left her to it then it's no wonder she wasn't really doing much if she hasn't trained at a gym before.
If you want to be interactive you just have to be creative.
Pushups where you have to slap hands, W drills where you chase each other, anything where you have to race one another or challenge endurance (lots of strength based movements you can race with), assist her with pullups if can't do them herself etc.
I train with a partner and we do our own thing for some of the session and work together for part of it.
