So i've been taking measurements on my own for about 6-7 months now. i've always used the sewing type you can get at any store, right?

Well the trainer that took my measurements this week used this really fancy very thin tape measure, and while I was excited to see my thighs looked about 2 inches smaller than I had orignally thought LOL, when he measured my guns...it was 2 inches LESS than my tape measure at home. I'm feeling a bit jipped lol, I told him my at rest measurements at home were 13.25 and flexed were about 14, he measured me at 12. Do trainers use a different type tape measure?? or am I missing something?

Old, used tape measures can stretch a tad over time, but also how tight a person hold the tape measure can made a big difference. Just use your same tape measure and same tension to track your measurement change over time. :)

tension can make a huge difference. Ive always used the kind you use, but in my exercise physiology lab at school we use these fancy ones with a spring/balls in the end so the tension is guaranteed to be the same each time
