I'm 14 weeks out from my 4th show and have had some problems with my tans at the last three.

First one, I used the spray tan service by Jan Tana, after doing their suggested skin prep for a week. When they sprayed the tan on, the evening before the show, by morning it was grayish green and blotchy. I also had several black streaks on my upper chest that never came off, so they completely resprayed me a very dark brown color. I was several shades darker than the other competitors and it still didn't adhere to my skin that well. I also developed large green patches which could be seen in the photos.

My second show, this same company agreed to spray me free of charge, and basically the same thing happened. I looked like I had rolled in mud, and when they did my touch-up before I went on stage, the color immediately ran off. They actually suggested I not use their product anymore; that my skin just wouldn't take it.

Third show, and in my current pic, I did my own tan with several coats of pro-tan (both Sunny Day and Two Minute Tan; nearly a full bottle of each) and a few more coats of Overnight Competition Color. I woke up with the tan still on my skin and not smeared everywhere and it was probably the best result I've had, though compared to everyone else I was still too orange.

So...anything that can be done for weird skin like mine that won't hold color? Should I just stick with the pro-tan and be a little orange?
