Watch what you eat, well balanced, healthy diet(I'm not going to get into anything specific or any diet/macros in particular). As far as exercises, squats, step ups, variations of deadlifts & lunges are great for your glutes. Stairmaster(no hands on the rails) and full incline treadmill(no hands on the rails) w/ or w/o high knees will help too.

Why are you screwed???

Implement all the exercises DBee mentioned and get your eating plan squared away and you'll reach your goals. Win win :)

Losing fat isn't about a cardio workout. You need to take a closer look at your eating plan. In order to lose fat, you've got to make sure your calories are in check.

You're not screwed...if you have a fat belly and fat butt, and you want to lose fat, you will lose fat from both places. If you then decide your butt is too small, you can start doing heavy leg workouts and build some muscle in your butt, which will make it a little bigger.

for what its worth, i had NO butt when i began lifting weights. well, there was fat there...but as i started to lose the fat, by backside was flatter and flatter...not a good look.

im now the proud owner of a butt, and i feel i owe this to a LOT of squats, lunges, dead lifts of varying types...i can be done! :)

build the muscle in your arse as said above, a firm round arse is much nicer than a flabby round one. :D

Listen to the above posts OP.

If you have fat on your belly and butt.. you will lose fat in both areas as soon as you start the fat loss.. How much you burn on each one depends on the person.

In order to keep size in the butt.. introduce lots of squats and variations of squats.. lunges.. etc. etc. so that way when you burn fat you can hold on to the glute muscles you have worked so hard for and built :) NOT a lose / lose situation. Keep workin' hard at it.

Make sure you are doing exercises for every muscle in your body. Do cardio 3 to 6 days a week 20-30 minutes per cardio session.

If you want to know about having a nice butt look up Bret Contreras the glute expert.

This is incorrect. How do you know this to be true?

Get your diet right first.
