Summary: Today was the first day where I was able to just sit back and relax, I decided to take the day off from everything (school, workouts, stress, etc). I had my Lasik exam in the morning and was very glad to hear I'm an excellent candidate. Hopefully I'll get it done soon after graduation and won't have to deal with contacts/glasses anymore. Later in the day I just got a haircut and joined my dad as he went on some errands. Today was also a day of fasting being Good Friday so I just had 1 normal meal (hence the smoothies). The grilled salmon was killer though!

Summary: I'm glad it's the weekend and I'm chilling at my house. The past few days have given me a boost that should be able to help me through the last few weeks at school. I went to my small local Fitness 19 gym today for a fairly good leg workout. Some dude in there was squating 585lbs (that's 6 PPS). His form however was disgusting and I'm surprised he didn't severly injure himself. It was basically him struggling to get it off the rack, squat about 3 inches for two reps, then hobble back into the rack. I wasn't about to say anything but it just boggled my mind. Anyway the rest of the day was great except for the fact that I can't find my Aggie Ring...it's been stressing me out like mad and I've been asking St. Anthony to pray for me, Catholics know what I mean here :). Also, salmon part two was just as good as the original!

Yea I've been seeing other people complain about closed gyms but mine had completely normal hours. Too bad Jason's Deli is closed tomorrow though, our family lunch plans were hacked :/

The Solution

Yea I guess that's my only concern but I need to do it. I was getting to concerned with "hitting my macros" exactly and need to take a chill pill. As long as I'm still getting results it'll be a great switch for me.

Morning weigh in – 142.6lbs

Morning weigh in – 141.8 lbs

Morning weigh in – 140.8lbs

Dude......... Even if you arent counting calories you still weigh in, and you see the same things everyone else does that follows this log..

Do we see a problem above? No hate man, but you know what needs to be done, and it required eating more. "FEEDING The Moose" Right? Lets go bro time is a wasting and you are skewing us with your overall goal of saying you want to add size and get bigger, your weekly weigh in's have not show much progress the last month or so, the time is now. Do it....

We are all here supporting you to see you ride out your goal and achieve what you want, but to those who follow and see you taking steps backwards when you try to step for forward it makes us double think exactly what you are doing. Lets get the ball rolling.

Current Average - 141.5lbs -0.7lbs
4/10/11 Average - 142.2lbs +0.2lbs
4/3/11 Average - 142.0lbs +0.8lbs
3/27/11 Average - 141.2lbs +0.5lbs
3/20/11 Average - 140.7lbs -0.5lbs
3/13/11 Average - 141.2lbs + 1.4lbs

These numbers do not lie bro... its 4/24 and on 3/13 you were heavier?

I gotta once again agree with Bob. Dude come on >_< No joke this is starting to get freaking dumb as heck with your weight. You didnt gain much when counting and now your going by feel and losing. It might be water weight but when it starts to drop it is a clear sign that you are going to start losing weight.....

If I go by how I feel when eating Id eat probably around 1800-2k and you know why I know this? Because over this weekend while house sitting I have been trying to give my self a break mentally from freaking out over macro's. I just been playing PC games, watching TV shows and did a little food shopping at a Trader Joes. At the end of the days I have added up my calories to see what I ended up taking in and it was a 300-400 shorter then what Id normally eat on off days. Even then the whole time I sat there thinking hmm maybe I am to full should I eat more?

WE ARE ****ED UP IN THE HEAD. But the good thing is, I know that I need to keep eating and stuffing my face with food and even tho I cant stop counting calories as much as I would like to I have come to terms with my self.

You are trying to do what Muffin does when he is very much different from you. The dude wants to put on weight and doesnt give a **** about adding some BF. He knows muscle and a few lbs of fat just comes along with the game. You how ever want to freaking bulk on crap for calories. He is eating / guessing his intake to be over 3k a day. Has a cheat meal that gives him a total of 5k or about that once a week and eats big on his off days.

I know that eating healthy takes a **** ton more food to eat then someone who is eating normal people food but your portion sizes are still the same. The only freaking way id say you can pull this off is by not eating like a bird 5 times a day and eat an portion size of 40g pro, 50g carb, 10-15g fat meal like 5-6 times a day. I know for a fact you are not getting in your calories. Since you started doing this style of eating its you are losing now even faster then before and its just been days.

Is it really that hard and tuff on your mind / body to say Ok 3k calories everyday and eat that? Eat PB, eat more proats eat a damn steak man! Go out and have a cheat meal and make it something thats out side of your normal eating pattern.

I had Strawberry Ice Cream (Was coconut milk made) and almost busted a freaking nut while eating it. You now how long its been since I have had something like that. It was amazing FREAKING AMAZING.

I don't wanna sound like an ass but man come on you are doing your self more harm then good these days. If counting calories is that stressful and taking that much of a toll on your social life then maybe you should STOP going to the gym for a bit and think if this hobbies is really worth the aggravation its putting on you.

Heck do me a favor take some After pics of your self and post them up but make sure you include the before pics. Like bob said you weighed more a few months back. Stop with the weekly weigh ins stop stressing about trying to eat so healthy to the point of making your self sick.

I am going to end this rant, but keep in mind I am not trying to rip you a new one but Its like every few months the same pattern happens and we all come running to you saying bump it up. You respond back to "Yeah I know I need to get on the gain train" and a few weeks later we are back at 140.

Love,
~Ian~

Happy Easter!!

4-24-11

Summary: Happy Easter everyone once again (and happy birthday to my brother too)! I guess I'll start by addressing Bob/Ian/Cumulo first. I uploaded a new picture from today and put it next to one from a few months ago, before you say it, yea not too much difference. Second I want to make it clear that I DO still want to gain weight but I DO NOT want to be tracking my food anymore. I realize that eating simply by feel will probably short change myself so I will start to go past this instinct. I reread through Ian's post while finishing off my sludge bowl then scooped out two more spoonfuls of PB and ran it down with a glass of milk FYI.

Don't give up on me now guys but the current transition period in my life will probably mean a cutback in updates is going to happen soon. Within the next 2 months I'll be graduating from college, moving to a new city, starting a new job with 40-50 hrs/week, visiting my uncle in DC for a week, going on a cruise with my brothers, and getting Lasik surgery. This is NOT me trying to run away from criticism, it's just life. Until all those things get rolling I will still be updating and do plan on keeping the log going afterwards as well...just a heads up.

As far as today's activities I'll keep it short: searched for my ring 2-3 hours, no luck, went to Easter mass with the family, loaded up all my stuff and drove back to CS, worked on group projects, and am trying to just relax now; once again thanks for the encouragement.

4-25-11

Summary: I went to campus a little earlier than normal today to prepare for my first of three end of semester presentations. It went pretty well and our group complimented each other nicely. One of the profs grading them was being a real dick to some of the other groups asking them off topic and completely ridiculous questions, luckily we were spared. The rest of the day was fairly long like most Monday's but I was glad to get into the gym (despite the crowds) in the evening. I was really trying to concentrate on controlled reps and not neglecting the eccentric movements as well, overall I felt very solid. I also finally picked up some xanthan gum to help thickens stuff up (specifically sludge). Just a teaspoon worked amazing and made it so thick (no homo); I highly recommend trying it out for experimentation in oats, sludge, pancakes, etc.

Good stuff moose- eats and workout looks solid!
I hear you- life related stresses can get in the way sometimes, and it sounds like you've got a lot going on right now, but at least it's cool stuff with getting out of school and starting a career- That's gotta feel good
I agree with what the others have said (and I do the same thing) when I need an extra boost of calories to hit my totals at the end of the day, sometimes some "junk" can do the trick- be it a cookie, ice cream, candy bar or whatever. (although I try to avoid filling those last few calories with beer, but it just happens sometimes ;))

Also I think the bump in portions definitely helped yesterday because I slept like a baby last night!

Summary: I'll start out by saying I slept like a baby last night, felt good man! Pretty boring/typical day on campus with working on end of semester reports, but the time in the gym was awesome. One of the best workouts I've had in a while and much better than last week's back workout where I had to be in Houston most of the day. I had more energy and motivation for some reason and had a very nice set of deads at 275. Everything else felt smooth as well. I also picked up Portal 2 and am psyched to try it out, I'm probably going to hold off firing it up until after finals are over but I know it'll be great!

How do you prepare your sludge? I need some ideas..

The past few ones have gone something like this

Add into bowl
~1 cup GY and 1/2 cup CC
~2 spoons of PB chunks
~1 scoop protein powder
~spoonful of cocoa powder
~3/4 cup almond or skim milk
~1 teaspoon xanthan gum

Stir everything up then add in chopped fruit and put into fridge/freezer. I've been making mine in the morning before going to classes and keeping it in the fridge. When I get home from the gym I move it to the freezer while I shower off and whatnot. Top with cereal, chocolate syrup, etc of your liking

Summary: I've been in groove the past week or so and have stuck with a pretty similar daily routine as I try to finish everything out on campus. I called it a day around 6 this evening to move around a little in the gym before relaxing at mi casa. I've got my second group presentation tomorrow and feel very well prepared with my team. Sorry for the somewhat repetitive meals recently they're just easy to prep in the morning and fill me up nicely; hopefully I'll have a little time for experimenting this weekend but don't get your hopes up lol.

I absolutely love salmon but haven't had as much time for food prep recently with end of semester crap. IMO if you get fresh salmon just put it on the grill with some evoo/balsamic/mrs dash garlic and it cooks itself! I also love mixing up stir frys with the canned variety when I'm lower on funds and just want something quick and easy; here are a few examples

not to hijack but what Moose said is great for fresh salmon, but if you don't have access to good fresh stuff and are just trying to add it to your diet-->try canned mixed with cream cheese (as if you were making tuna salad with mayo).

Summary: Well I'm back from another lengthy day. Our presentation was very solid and was actually pretty laid back, everyone in our class knows each other well so no one was really nervous to get up in front of everyone. All that's left now is 2 tests, 1 project, and 1 more presentation...I can taste it! Anyway the shoulder workout was a breath of fresh air and I tried a few now lifts I haven't done before: seated BB military press in smith machine, behind the back cable laterals, and facepulls. I'm going to have to watch some videos to check and make sure I was doing them right but my initial impressions of them were very positive. I promise to have at least one creative meal tomorrow, but until then Moose out!

Morning weigh in – 140.8lbs

WORKOUT

Seated BB Military Press in Smith - 85 x 8, 8; 95 x 6, 6

Standing Arnold Press – 35's x 8, 8, 8, 8

Shrugs - 180 x 12, 12, 12

A: Reverse Grip BB curl - 60 x 10, 10, 10
B: Forearm curl – 40 x 10, 10, 8

So much for increased portions:rolleyes: You know we are here to see you make the necessary changes to succeed, but its one thing to let it go in one ear and out the other... Its obvious you have been at this weight for WELL over a month and yet you have not made a move at all. What are you fearing? You even stated in your pictures you have not made much progress does that not tick you off to see others around in logs making more progress because they are not afraid of change? I know life is hectic but it doesnt take more than 5 seconds to open a Jar and add more peanut butter, or throw in more food. Eating the same thing everyday doesnt help when its not leading to gains or an increase in weight....

Could you at least give me a week of forgoing the online logging before we start this again. After weighing in this morning I said "okay up the portions again". I added an extra egg at breakfast, larger sweet potato at lunch, 3 handfuls of almonds instead of 2, and around 3/2 cups of cereal instead of 1 cup. Probably an additional 300 calories from yesterday.

I am not looking to start anything after just getting on your ass about this a few days ago but Bob is right. Man I eat the same freaken way as you and to hit 3300 calories on days would be most likely impossible for me to do if I didn't track.

You didnt gain at 2900 calories but would probably start gaining at the over 3kish mark. Your meals dont really look like that much :/ Seeing as I eat the same portion sizes but with an added 1-2 + Meals and on top of that a lot more snacking added in.

I would like to know, are you eating till you are full by the end of the day or are you stressing about if you might have added to much? I just think at 5'9 140 this is a bad idea since its been a weight you have been at for so long.

You share you log with people in hopes to get support. We want to help you and see you make progress but yet you get pissed off at us when we try to tell you that you still clearly have a problem. I would be getting pissed off at my self vs others when the scale isnt the one that is making your weight go down day by day.

Also you said you dont want people to give up on you or lose hope. But if you have noticed you dont get much traffic in your log these days anymore. Its probably because after months of people saying the same stuff nothing changes.

Id support this whole "eat free" type of dieting if you had made steady gains and put on the weight you needed to not look unhealthy. But you didnt and cant yet. I just think this is going to end up causing more problems for you down the road vs if you just stuck with tracking and upped your calories to a proper amount.

I just want to chime in a say that if I didn't track there is no way in hell I would be eating enough calories on training days to hit my macros. Serious, on the days when I decide to just eat "normal" food in large quantities to hit my macros I'm ALWAYS surprised at the amount of food on the plate. Even on rest days where my macros are lower by about 500 cals I still sometimes surprise myself.

I'd say if you're gonna continue eyeballing things like this you should at least add like a bowl of proats at the end of every day. Like when you think you're done eating add something significant on top of that just to push things up. Hopefully you'll start seeing results on the scale that way.

This ^^^^^^^^^^

Or you could not track with using a website but just human total up your meals. Like the other day I see 3 meal pics just grab crap and add up 1000 calories worth of food for each of the 3 meals. Or if your eating more then just divide up how many meals by 3000 calories or some crap.

Okay I understand you are here to give me advice and help me out, but just accept the fact that I am not going to be logging stuff anymore, period. The day I decided to make this switch I totaled up a "typical" day of eats one last time to get an idea of what my daily intake would be by sticking to similar portions, it was something like 340C, 220P, and 80F; just barely under 3000.

I simply don't want to be taking out a scale to the weight of food or pouring milk/etc into a measuring cup before I drink it for fear of eating over or under, it's just unnecessary and unhealthy for me...I'm not a bodybuilder, I'm a 22 year of normal guy about to graduate college. There are more important things on my mind.

Sorry for the rant I just want to be clear on this.

Well then, I support what ever makes you happy at the end of the day. Just get out of that damn 140 mark brother ;)

I know man I hate my food scale with all my heart but I just know if I dont take the 10min to track and weigh out my junk for the day I would be falling behind big time. I would hope I could reach a point that I no longer need to have it other then for when I am using it to bake something with a called for ingredient >_<

Maybe I just need to find me a women who can cook some amazing food and keep me out of the kitchen lol

Thanks Ian, but it's not the time needed to do it, it's the mindset behind it that's messing with me...and X2 on the woman :)

To anyone else reading the above I meant I no longer wanted to log the food online with calorie counters. I still plan on updating.

I made a spreadsheet on my Mac to track my calories & macros
I have all my usual foods entered in and it's a snap to add new stuff (and calculate calories from recipes)
It takes me about 30 seconds at the end of the day to go through and enter in how many servings of each item I had and my intake is all totaled an broken down for me

Are you guys freakin old women. How in the heck would you under eat. Being males at your age who claim to train hard and your not hungry enough to get your cals in? You either need to start appreciating your status of having food to nurish your body and grow or step up your training intensity alot.

@Moose, it is hard for me to understand how a 140 lb year old man in prime age can tarin 5x a week, seem to be rather busy with work/school not want to just completely demolish food. Are you scared to add fat or something? Fat is fixable, you CAN loose it. Time at young age to make clean quick gains YOU WILL NOT HAVE AGAIN

heck, i have to tell myself just about every other day to chill out on the eats because im gaining to much to fast on a bulk.

Lol, completely agree with this. I could eat my daily cals in a couple of hours.

To anyone else reading the above I meant I no longer wanted to log the food online with calorie counters. I still plan on updating.

SHouldn't be an issue
Write down what you ate today in terms of portions
group them --> primary protein (whey, meat, etc), carb (oats, banana, veggies etc), fat (PB, almonds, oil), mixed (beans, milk, whole eggs, etc)

Protein= X servings
Carbs= Y servings
Fat= Z servings
Others = V servings

We know you are already hitting enough protein, so you can add to the other categories. You said you know that you were around 3000 calories, so a 10% increase= 300 calories. A generic "serving" just happens to be about 100 cals.

Tomorrow's Plan

Protein= X servings
Carbs = Y+1 servings
Fat= Z+1 servings
Others = V+1 servings

There is your 10% increase. No weighing needed. You can pretty much add whatever you want (2 extra servings carb and zero fat one day, 3 others the next day-->like you said you just want to eat normal and this is flexible).

THanks for the advice but the idea is that I want to get away from the whole idea of hitting certain macros and thinking about food all day. I understand where you're coming from though and will still be increasing portions when needed.

I'll update stuff a little later, just got done with a lengthy session on campus

Think about it for 5 minutes before your last meal
What did I eat? Was it enough? If not-->add it to prebed meal
If you happen to be "over" --> bulking cals :)

Summary: First off I switched around a few of the workout days of this week and next week due to some changes in schedule/whatnot. Having the day off from classes allowed me to make a proper breakfast treat this morning. I followed that up with a demanding leg workout and worked on one of my design projects the rest of the day. I did some bodyweight squats near the end where I held a 25lb plate straight out in front of me and man it was a tough core workout! One of my buddies suggested these and he knew what he was talking about for sure. There's not too much to add other than that since there was quite a bid of discussion during the afternoon, but all in all a very productive day for me.

Morning weigh in – 141.8lbs

WORKOUT – Legs

Squat – 190 x 8, 8, 8, 7

B: Barbell Rollout - BW x 12, 12, 12

A: Decline crunch - 15 x 13, 12

Nice glute-ham raises, those are tough. If you can maintain 3 sets of 10 while gaining mass you know your gaining mostly muscle. ill challenge you too a mini goal. in 6-7 weeks weight atleast 145 lbs in the a.m. and be able to do the same setxreps for that bodyweight exercise.
That is solid progress in my mind

Not for nothing but given the fact I battled an ED for years and still do its very easy to under eat. I train hard as fawk but that still doesn't take into the fact that I most likely need mental help with dealing with my body image disorder.

Summary: All in all today was another pretty good day minus a couple of my beligerant roommates last night. Long story short I probably got about 4 hours of total sleep and had a few of my own personal items broken...I'm ready for my own place. Also for anyone who was doubting I increased portions or whatnot just check out my weigh in haha. I don't know why my weight fluctuates like it does but at least the laws of thermodynaics still apply with respect to food intake and activity. I might go see Fast Five tonight as well, I'm not expecting any sort of riveting plotline but hope to be entertained nonetheless.

Summary: Lazy Sunday wake up in the late afternoon...NOT! Got quite a bit done for my structural design class today, we're almost ready for the company presentation Thursday but still have a bit to do. Aside from that I felt awesome in the gym today! I finally got through 4 clean sets of Bench at 160 and DB incline at 55's. The dips also felt much better than in the past, it was a very encouraging day to say the least. Plus going there at noon on a Sunday meant it wasn't packed wall to wall. I also finally got around to watching this week's Office, I was sad to see Michael go and don't think the series has much left in it. I'm keeping my fingers crossed however. While on the subject of TV shows does anyone watch Dexter? When does the next season pick up I can't wait!

Well then I'll be looking forward to September! I've never heard of Californication, is that another Showtime series?

The only shows I ever watched "regularly" were Dexter, 24, LOST, Office, and other random food network or reality shows. Lately though my TV watching has plummeted, not that that's bad haha.

I'm not sure, I'm always apprehensive to go for a 1RM in deads since my form at higher weights isn't the best. The last thing I want to do is throw something outta whack. Once I can comfortably do reps at 285+ I might go for a 1RM with 3 plates...that's the plan at least

Summary: Same old same old as the past few days. I spent the majority of the afternoon putting the finishing touches on my larger project with my group, I gotta say though I'm going to feel very proud about the final product we manage to put together. I did have time for a quick food store run in the morning and a short session in the gym for cardio and stretching. I'll probably go watch a church speaker present something this evening to get my mind off of all the stress with school lately which will be very nice...good eats today! I wish I had the time to make the sweet potato hash every day.

Morning weigh in – 142.8lbs

May the 4th be with You!

Summary: 85 pages later I'm done with my senior design project, Whoop! We still have our formal presentation tomorrow but the hard part is done and we should be fine presenting as long as we aren't thrown any screwball questions. No classes let me stick with the 3 larger meals and working out right around noon, a schedule I wish I could keep every day. The shoulder workout felt great and might be my favorite one of the week despite not having and really heavy lifts. It feels more like a hypertrophy day I guess, and I work up a sweat pretty quickly.

Morning weigh in – 141.8lbs

WORKOUT

Standing Military Press - 100 x 8, 8, 8, 7

Cable side laterals behind back – 12.5's x 10, 9, 8
-One arm

A: Arnold Press – 35's x 9, 9
B: Cuban Press – 30's x 10, 9

Shrugs - 180 x 12, 12, 12

Alternating Front Laterals 25 x 10, 10, 10

Cinco de Mayo, 2011

Summary: The presentation this afternoon went great, we touched on quite a bit of things the other groups didn't even consider when designing their structure which made the company reps overlook some of our errors. Our team wasn't hit with too many tough questions and all in all handeld things very well, plus we got a free lunch from Blue Baker which was nice.

Later in the day I got to the rec for the leg workout. I was feeling sluggish at first, but 2 sets into the squats I'm not sure what got into me and I felt an awesome rush of energy! I think I've been reading too many of Webbers updates because I just felt like slapping on extra plates. The last set at 195 was rough but exhilirating. I'm going to have a case of the rubber legs fore a few days for sure. Also, in case you forgot I'm getting superhuman sight tomorrow lol. I'm heading back to Houston for Lasik in the morning and hope all goes well. Recovery time is usually very fast and I'm much more excited than nervous about the procedure. Wish me (and more importantly the doctor) good luck!

B: Squats Holding Plate Extended - BW+25 x 11, 10, 10, 10

Thanks guys I'm sure the doctor will do his job well! I'm almost outta Folgers D, I might actually make the switch to fresh ground. I'm still undecided though b/c the instant stuff is SO convenient and inexpensive

Summary: Well my eyes are still somewhat sore and irritated, but the procedure went very smoothly! I was amazed by the fact that literally 10 seconds after it was over I could already see better, granted everything was sorta foggy and muted but I could see far away no problem! Long story short if your contemplating Lasik I say go for it! All that's left is a strict regiment of eye dropping and making sure i don't rub my eyes. Not much else to update other than the surgury b/c I was napping all day and recovering from the leg workout yesterday. I'll be taking things VERY easy this week in general as well.

You are so lucky to have gotten lasik surgery! I have been wearing contacts for a few years and I am starting to hate them.

If your vision has stopped changing and your perscription is the same get it done! You're 22 just like me and the doctor said I shouldn't have to worry about any changes in vision a good 20+ years (knock on wood). I was getting sick of contacts, glasses, solution etc.

Also, here was the fluff I just whipped up an hour or so ago. Borderline too mcuh volume here and I was pretty bloated after downing it lol.

cup each: almond milk and mashed thawed blueberries
heaping scoop ON vanilla casein
1-2 tsp xanthan gum

Summary: First for a Lasik update my eyes feel great! I'd say they're 95% at the moment and I could read 20:15 at the checkup eye exam this morning. As long as I stay on top of sticking with the drops I should be ready to go. The rest of the day I just ran some errands with my dad, picked up some flowers for Mommy Day tomorrow, and am about to head back to College Station tonight; hopefully my roommates don't plan on a crazy night. At this time on Monday I'll be DONE with school! Also, after trying a few different sludge/fluff varieties I think I'm a fan of the normal ole sludge without the hand mixer. Sure it adds ridiculous amounts of volume but I just prefer the typical way with more taste per bit. I did however whip up a huge batch of blueberry vanilla fluff to try as add into to oats, pancakes etc. I'm hoping it will keep well in the fridge/freezer for a week or so.

Morning weigh in – 142.4lbs

Summary: This will finally be my last Sunday meeting up with groups to finish of end of semester projects. I took the morning easy and just went to mass, food store, and sold a few items I had up on craigslist to make the burden of moving out easier. In the afternoon I headed up to campus for a few hours then ended with a light chest session at the Rec. I guess you could call this my "deload" week even though I'll be on vacation in D.C. next week as well lol. O well the Mooseman needs some R&R so that's fine with me. I just focused on form and didn't want to put too much stress on my body especailly with the recent Lasik (I'm about 99% back to normal however). Summary: Happy Tuesday folks, I spent most of the morning trying to fanangle my awkwardly shaped corner desk out of my room which was a huge PITA. I eventually had to disassemble then reassemble half of it. I have no idea how I got it in to begin. Anyway the rest of the day was laid back; Fired up Portal 2 for the first time, did some insurance paperwork for my lost ring, and went out to eat with some friends at Pei Wei, one of my favorites spots by far. All I did in DC was go to the Museums and the Arlington Cemetary. So I don't really have any recomendations beyond that. I think the Holocaust museum was probably the best one but I don't know if you are interested in that at all. Also, the food options are great. If you need a coffee fix there are Starbucks EVERYWHERE lol!

Summary: Finishing up classes has allowed me to be very laid back the past few days. I slept in a bit this morning then whipped up some pancakes, went to the gym around noon, then spent the afternoon hanging out with friends before we all part ways soon. It was quite a bit of fun but still kinda sad since I'm not sure when I'll be seeing some of them again. I lowered intensity a bit again due to the recent lasik, but am definitely feeling back to full energy. I'll stick with one more 80-90% day tomorrow for legs but want to get in a couple intense/solid sessions before I take the week off in DC. Off topic, has anyone seen Game of Thrones on HBO. I've heard it's good and am trying to find somewhere to watch it online too see if the hype is up to snuff.

Flapjacks do look fabulous
What ratios did you use. I have found more pumpkin = moister but then someties they get too dense and nut fluffy enough

Being completely honest I don't think I've used the same recipe once lol

Today it was close to
-1/2 can Libby's pumpkin
-1 snack pack applesauce
-1 XL egg + cup whites
~3/4 cup 10 grain pancake mix (didn't weigh so IDK exact)
-lots of cinnamon and some stevia
-tsp baking powder

Pancakes look intense dude!

As for college buddies, leaving them is a drag, but you'll find that the people you really want to keep in touch with, you will, and those you don't, you won't. It's also really cool seeing those people after a period of separation, because usually you can just pick up where you left off. Good times.

Summary: Despite being just a tad lower intensity again, the leg workout today felt awesome & the gym was pretty much empty with finals being over. I stuck with pretty much all the same lifts as usual so no surprises there, but really felt a burn at near the end. Aside from that today was very similar as yesterday except for a huge thunderstorm and my parents coming in town for the start of graduation stuff. We went to the commencement speaker this evening then out to eat afterwards. Man I freakin' love quality sushi with fresh fish! Graduation tomorrow night at 7:00 WHOOP!

Haha I owe the thanks all to my dad, I doubt I would've put the dent in my wallet for those selections if it weren't on him lol. Another note about eating with my family: THey are always amazed by how much I'm eating and how I barely gain weight. When I go home and make a huge plate of eggs/potato hash/veggies or 10 pancakes for breakfast my mom is always speachless haha.

Another random question for anyone (which I may have asked before). Whenever I sit for too long 1.5-2 hours+ my hips start to hurt and get sore and I prefer to stand most of the time, any idea what's going on here? Should I go see a chiropractor or something?

WHAT!? you went to a Japanese restaurant but ordered no sushi? disappointed in your choice of foods, brah.. ;)
The beef tataki looks really really good btw!

I totally understand how you feel about family members amazed by the amount of foods we eat.. My dad teased me as a starving African, and my mom told me to stop eating so much cuz my stomach cannot accommodate the volumes of food. Especially after I started IF, LOL..
hahah but honestly brah, i would be freaked out too if I was a mom, seeing my son stacking up 10 pancakes for breakfast! ^lol exactly what you do with yours.

Summary: Well everyone I've officially walked the stage and got my diploma, whoop! I ended up graduating Summa Cum Laude with a 3.975 to show you just how much of a nerd I can be haha. It was a very memorable evening and I was very glad to have all my family there with me. Graduation stuff was obviously the highlight of the day (despite it taking 3 hours) but I was still able to get a short cardio/stretching session in the morning and tried a different way to have sludge as well. I'm also heading out w/ my two brothers this evening for some good bro time!

WORKOUT – Cardio/off

-10 minutes foam rolling

Fellow suma in the house.
But 3.975? What happened?
(not srs)
Doesn't make you a nerd. It makes you employed.
You are far ore weird for taking pictures of your food and posting them on the internet (lol).

As far as the hip goes, when I a just sitting on the couch watching tv I often sit Indian style, cross legged and in different positions where I am essentially stretching my legs/hips by applying pressure and find my legs stay a lot looser and feel better. Has also helped my squats a lot.

Gratz Moose. Outstanding GPA. Definitely in the range where if employers ask you why they should hire you you can just can just slam down your diploma and shout "why shouldn't you hire me dipshiit!" Although you already have a job some win-win. Having the future mapped out is such amazing peace of mind.

Summary: I slept in much later than usual this morning since my brothers and I were hanging out pretty late last night catching up on stuff. Once we all finally did roll out of bed my parents came over to help me move most of my stuff out of my college house, I'm not heading home for good until tomorrow afternoon though. The rest of the day (like the past week) was very laid back and relaxing. In the gym I finally got back to a higher effort lifting day since my eyes are at probably 99% with just a small red mark left on each. I also got a good tip from my spotter while doing bench to try and not completely lock out at the top of each rep to keep the muscles working throughout each set (similar to when I do leg press), sound right?

Morning weigh in – 144.4lbs, waterweight fluctuaions like mad!

WORKOUT - Chest

Bench – 160 x 6, 6, 6, 6

No one can argue with results my man and it looks like you've seen a big jump in the past few weeks! I'm sure it helps having the stress of school over as well.

I have my own calorie counter but my wife uses one of those sites and I find the #s on the site she uses to be quite a bit different than the ones I get straight from the nutrition labels. Of course every brand and recipes are always going to be different.

It also depends on how anal you want to be about counting every single ingredient. Cutting I try to be exact about every single calorie, but bulking I'm free to be a bit more lax

Summary: Today was a very bittersweet day with it being my final day in Aggieland (I know I'll be back at some point but I have no idea when). I spent the morning packing up the last of my things and utilized access to our awesome rec center one last time for a strong back workout before I left. Summary: I mentioned it a while back but most of y'all had probably forgotten that I'm heading to DC tomorrow with my brother to visit my uncle for about a week. It should be a very relaxing week off and I'm really looking forward to doing the tourist thing as well as some hiking around my Uncle's cabin. In the gym today I did a number of full body compound lifts & supersets. I just felt like getting my last bit of energy out before the break. I'm not sure whether or not I'll have internet access in DC, but I don't plan on updating anything until I get back anyways. If I am treated to some nice meals I'll hopefully remember to snap some pics, but I'm not going to worry about foods much at all. This is also similar to where this log is probably heading once I move to Dallas and begin the next part of my life, just a heads up that daily updates will most likely be less frequent. I still plan to keep it all up though!

WORKOUT

I'd call today's workout a "depletion" workout before the off week for vacation

Front Squats to Military Press - 90 x 8, 8, 8, 8

A: Angled leg Press - 350 x 8, 8; 370 x 8, 8
B: Seated side laterals - 15's x 10, 10, 10, 10

B: Barbell Forearm Curls - 40 x 12, 12, 11, 10

Lying leg curls - 100 x 12, 11, 10

10 minutes cooloff/stretching
