I plan on playing Black Ops on my computer monitor (for the 1080p and all that) since my regular t.v. is a CRT.

Anyway, does it matter which HDMI cable I buy? The XBOX 360 HDMI cable is 40 bucks, when others are way cheaper. Does it really matter?

No, I paid €6 for mine and it works fine.

Buy the cheapest one you can find. A HDMI cable will either work or it won't.

The ONLY thing that you might need to check is the length of the cable. Apart from that all cables are the same, it's a big rip-off. PC World sells 10m cables for £119.99, the cheats.

If you get the cheapest you can find expect a 2m cable that hardly reaches to the TV. But it will work the same as any other.

Damn...none of my monitors even have a HDMI slot. It's just the DVI or VGA slots. Probably need to get a converter or something right?

@ VGA dude, just get the VGA cord (official one, knock-offs don't work well here) and then plug the stereo (red+white) into the thing that comes with it and boom, sound + video.

The only time it really matters is when you go longer distances. Some will go past 45 feet with good cable integrity. if it's 6 feet then no biggy.

I've never done it before, but using an HDMI cord with a monitor that supports it will have audio also? No need for audio jacks?

if your monitor has speakers then no need. But the speakers on the monitor are sh*t.

Here is how I used to do it.

HDMI to the monitor for video

for audio:

connect a standard a/v cable in the back of the 360
take the red&white audio cables and use this converter to plug in pc speakers.

yeah it will have speakers in it, and i've heard they do suck, lol.

maybe i should invest in some cheap speakers, as I mainly use headphones.
