Hi there

I thought that starting a journal would keep me motivated. So here goes.

I'm a 5'3, 85kgs (about 35%bf) aussie female. I started working out with weights about April 2001 after getting the BFl book. I was pretty consistent over the first 12 months and managed to drop 12 kilos, unfortunately I didn't keep going over the last 12 months and have just maintained my weight, although i do fit into a pair of jeans that I couldn't this time last year so apparently i've gained some muscle and lost some fat somehow. I'm going to be doing CKD and I've decided to give Max-OT a try. (Has anyone tried Max-ot?)

I have been asked to be a bridesmaid at the end of August so I am using this as my motivation to get back into it and making this my goal date. I'm going to be the only bridesmaid so I get to choose my own dress, so I would like it to be a great one. lol

So having said that, my goals for August 30 are:

18-20% bf (do you think this is possible?)
weight - don't care
size - 10-12 (aust) (i'm currently a 16)
I wouldn't mind being 5'6 either but I guess that's something I can't change so I'll just have to get some great shoes. lol

I'm am going to be taking measurements each week but will probably only post them when I get to goal.
Any help through my BM challenge would be most appreciated.

J.

Thats about 10lbs a month. It is achievable, I have a friend who dropped an amazing 95lbs since October of last year. But she almost never "cheats", and when she does it is only for 1 meal, once a week. It takes total dedication and determination. She doesnt even look like the same person anymore, its amazing. I hope you succeed, I dont think there is a more rewarding feeling then achieving your physical goals.

Jay...good luck with your challenge! :)

By your post, I am not sure if you continued dieting and weight training over the past year or not.
If you have been weight training, then go for the Max-Ot. It is a different to really work each muscle group. But if you have not been training for some time, this might be a little too intense to start back on.

I am not a big fan of keto diets...so I am the last one to ask for advice on that one. :)

Thanks :D. I know it's going to take a lot of work but knowing that someone has done it before makes it seem that little bit easier to do.

Yes I have been working out off and on over the last year. It would be like 3 weeks on 2 weeks off, that kind of thing. Not enough to make great gains but enough to hold my weight kinda steady.

I've found that a feel a whole lot better when on a keto style diet than I do on a higher carb diet. I just wish I had stumbled onto them earlier. lol .

I've had a strange week so far. I've been really good with my meals, I just haven't done a workout yet (unless of course you count 1.5hrs of bellydancing as a cardio workout?? lol). I've had very good intentions to workout but, well, I've been lazy. (sigh) I slept for 3.5 hours after I got home on Monday afternoon, I think it was due to changing over to CKD again. Tuesday night I was sore from work and had bellydancing. Tonight I was just plain lazy and tomorrow night I'll be getting a tooth pulled. Looks like it's squats on Friday for me. lol.

I've been reading over some of the journals here and I have to say that they are very inspiring. I guess it's always nice to know that you aren't alone in your doubts and not wanting to get up early. :) I never knew what a person had to do to get ready for a competition and I am truly amazed by it all. It's a good thing for me that I have never wanted to compete because I seriously doubt I would make it past the first day. lol

Well a week on and I still haven't gotten my butt in gear. For a person that really wants to look good I'm not doing much about it. I have been looking at my schedule and i have come to the horrible conclusion that I am just going to have to get up at 5am in order to work out. Ugh. I finally stop commuting 2 hours to work and can finally sleep in 'til 6 and now I have to get up at 5am again. But I guess it is for a better reason than work, I just have to keep that in mind. I guess this means I'm in bed by 9.30pm again too. (sigh) lol

I have changed my diet up so that I am under 20 gms for carb for the day. I think I have finally gotten the ratio and the calorie amount right. Now I just have to stick to it. The good thing is, because there is nothing else in my fridge and its a week before pay day, it's a safe bet that I will stick to it. lol. Now I just have to work out.

No worries, I can do it. :D

I finally did it!! I worked out for the first time in months!! Oh it feels good to get it out of the way. I guess it always the first step that's the hardest.

So my goals for August are now different because of the waste of June. They are still my end goals I just have to adjust them for the end of August. No worries :D
